Well huh, I had totally missed that the Fountain was a Q ability. Interesting, i feel like it's been forever since we've seen one of those. And yes, that does create really good synergy with this.
Does anyone else find it weird that this doesn't just put +1/+1 counters on itself for each card exiled with it? Seems weird to make its base P/T equal to a weird memory tracking thing.

Nah, plenty of cards already do this type of effect, many with more complicated variables than "number of cards exiled by this card". It's pretty easy to track this with the same method used to track +1/+1 counters.
