So A color variant of birthing pod but you have to cast it. However you will notice it’s missing “until end of turn” so unless I’m mistaken you can hold on to it for later? (It could be no because it’s also missing “for as long as it’s in exile”)
Shame the best things I can think of involving this card right now are sac-colourless-tutor-for-monocoloured - I'm having a tough time thinking of 2-coloured combo piece creatures right now.
Well, at least it lets you reduce the number of multicolor creatures you have in your deck. That's....different....I suppose. Probably too narrow and too slow to be of any real use, but you never know--some people are crafty.
Oh and to mention before you get pessimistic about all because of comparing it to birthing pod due to its “you may cast the exiled card”
if This could cheat creatures into play it would get banned in commander faster or as fast as Lutri, the Spellchaser did. And other formats alike for a similar reason
Because you can imagen if it did cheat stuff into play people would sac something like a ornithopter to sudden get a card in line with Avacyn, Angel of Hope on a turn like T3 with the right hand
heck Maybe win in a similar speed to Protean Hulk and flash did while both were legal

You have to cast the spell on resolution. If you wanted to go from Llanowar Elves to Koma, you need 3GGUU on standby as you activate the ability (Or technically 4GGUU counting the ability's activation cost.)

yep realized that
plus The comment above your very comment has the concept to why it would be the biggest mistake if it could cheat creatures into play

I mean, I'm sure if it let you play the card for free they would have added another restriction like "same mana value" or "mana value plus 1."
This can be very nice though. Very much a reusable creature tutor in commander, if you are willing to build around the restrictions.

I also tried Evolving Door in Colossus Hammer Time, and as much as Hammer Time wants to turn all its colourless dorks into Puresteel Paladin and SFM, Hammer Time doesn't like 3-cmc spells much.
I don't get the flavour of this one. I get that it's supposed to be a pun on 'revolving door', but like, what?
At least make the artwork a revolving door (maybe in the shape of a double helix to keep the conenction to the name) but as is it's just feels random and boring flavour wise.

It is a revolving door, if this is the door from above: + the creature evolving is in the bottom right going to the top right and the panel/door behind them is facing us.

Okay, I see now it's a revolving door from the front. Well, that's an awkward perspective for a revolving door.
Not sure what you mean with "from above" and bottom right and top right? We only see a rhox standing in front of the door?
When I first saw this I thought it was pretty meh, but just realized it might be pretty decent in token decks. You could sacrifice eldrazi drones, for example, to tutor and cast mono-colored creatures from your deck, or use mono-colored token creatures to get 2-colored creatures. The fact that you have to cast the creature you tutor means it'll never be as good as cards like Birthing Pod but still.

Due to still needing to cast the creature to tutor for, I think the closer comparison is actually to Fauna Shaman or even Survival of the Fittest (no repeatability, I know). There's also a shockingly apt comparison to Evolutionary Leap.
Oh goddammit.... what a terrible card... damn.
super restrictive conditions....
3 mana up front.
card disadvantage on a stick
cannot sac creatures that would be dying anyway
and still doesn't help you pay the costs for your recently tutored up dude, making it even more expensive because of the activation....
damn.....
if it didn't have the "use as a sorcery" restriction, I could get behind it, and I think it wouldn't still be good enough

Who needs to build around restrictions? Testing has been fine so far in Modern UWg Artifact Midrange by turning colourless creatures (often 0-cmc) into Thought Monitor, Urza, Lord High Artificer, Emry, Lurker of the Loch, and Stoneforge Mystic! Admittedly, the splash can be ugly at times, but it's performing better for me than Halo Fountain so far.
