How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
This is mass destruction, the artwork completely fails at that.
Unless all the stuff dies of cringe or something ...
Still super flexible and probably the best kind of mass removal in terms of the effect, as exiling stuff can be so devastating and this will always hit something to cripple them (but for whatever reason its not planeswalkers, which is weird).
Unless I missed it, where's that contentious DJ artwork that made some people vomit prismatic colours everywhere?

Here it is. Still fine by me. The rest of the set is awesome in art and flavor anyway, though I had hoped for a full legendary wedge cycle. Temur being left out feels bad.
I‘m sad that the card is very underwhelming. It would be very funny when it would be the chase rare of the set and the people hate it to play it due to the artwork.

With enough treasure generation it may be one of the chase commons.
Also no ten two color cycle, multiple ninjas and samurai legends instead.

The implication in the Planeswalker's Guide to Kamigawa that the rigging is made out of spare parts just might alleviate some of the earlier criticism here that the DJ's mechanical arms are rigged together with twine for no known reason.
Awesome set! Best in a while by my reckoning. I was wary of the futuristic theme, but it's played pretty well, and there's not a lot of DJ dude type things floating around. Love the sagas, love the creature equipment, don't mind the other mechanics. The mythics aren't overpowered, and the commons/uncommons aren't underpowered. Lore from the past. Lore from the now. I'm very pleased.
I was hoping for arcane, but I can understand why they didn't use it. It's just a marker mechanic for spells after all.

So I know Farewell was in the AR game, and the cursed Muramasa sword Eater of Virtue was yesterday's skipped preview, but it still feel weird seeing two rares in the final set drop.
I wasn't all that confident going into Neon Dynasty, since I remember just how badly it did in the of people at the time, but this set has done nothing of the sort so far. Outside of probably Boseiju, this set has been nothing but impressive yet not just stepping on the gas for power.
That being said, there are A LOT of commons in this set.

I agree, it has a lot of power, but it's spread out, not just in 3 mythics. I'm really glad to see it. Even Boseiju, it's going to show up an irritating amount and it's very strong, but it's strictly removal. It's like if they printed Doom Blade on a land, I love that sort of thing, put the pushed power levels in the effects that slow the game down.

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
I was looking forward to the card with the artwork of Light-Paws that was featured in the final story ... turns out it's a "use it once in Draft and throw it away" type of common (Regent's Authority). Bummer. Guess it'll make a nice bookmark. I hope there's an art series card for it.
If there's one thing in this set that's not really doing it for me, it's the sagas. Many of them have effects that feel disjointed in a way, like they're not telling a story, and the creature side having summoning sickness after flipping makes them seem underwhelming in general. But this may be one of those instance where you actually have to use them first to "get it."
Overall I'm pretty happy with how the Return to Kamigawa turned out. There are some misses, but the positives outweigh them.
I generally like the set but it feels like it has a lot of themes and don't explore them enough.
Ninjas are cool and they did an awesome thing adding G, but they are too few. Why there are not UG ninjas for example?
Samurai sadly don't synergize with old samurai.
Things like enchantress cards feel really scattered. A dedicatted tricolor legend would have helped.

This is one of the demerits of discarding the block system. Sure when it's a dud set it's easier to sweep under the rug and move on to the next idea, but when it's a great set it ends up feeling way too short.
Instead of those "From the Vault" and "Secret Lair" stuff I wish they spent that time and energy making mini blocks that just focused on relevant reprints and new cards that are made with only constructed play in mind.
Big blocks for keeping the game new and interesting, small blocks for keeping the game healthy.

Never forget whose grace and favor led to your success and always give your thanks, otherwise you might be doomed to loose it.

Overall you get few enough multicolor cards in your average set. You get the draft signpost uncommons and some legendaries. Unlikely to get some Ninja rare in an outlier color pair. Should we get a white-black one, too, to expand upon that single white Ninja?
But you are also looking at the wrong thing to blame, if you complain about the end of blocks. You know how many gold cards there were in the entirety of the original Kamigawa-block? Two.
Samurai sadly don't synergize with old samurai.
Because old Samurai have a very generic keyword ability as their mechanical identity and nothing in any way unifying them as a class. In regards of build-around they just didn't have an identity, so that identity couldn't be referenced with the new Samurai. Samurai really received an upgrade in that regard.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.

I really hope a lot of these sagas are good in standard. Less because of how cool they are (or not), but more because the midrange decks that these sagas support keep getting squeezed out of standard formats by the combo of agro and decks that go way over the top. So if these sagas are good, then that means midrange is probably good.

so what do you think did they redeem kamigawa from the first visit?

Power is healthy but not over the top. Key themes are still there. And tribes that needed love got it.
And by far this set is my favorite in terms of showcase art. Just about everyone of them blows their normal art counterpart out of the water.
Iron Apprentice looks like Arcbound Worker except you get to put all its counters on any creature you have, but Zabaz, the Glimmerwasp ignores it.
The implication in the Planeswalker's Guide to Kamigawa that the rigging is made out of spare parts just might alleviate some of the earlier criticism here that the DJ's mechanical arms are rigged together with twine for no known reason.

Speaking of unexciting commons with nice or interesting art, I feel this set has a lot of them. Moonfolk Puzzlemaker, Skyswimmer Koi, Clawing Torment, Kami of Terrible Secrets, Return to Action, Ambitious Assault, Gift of Wrath, Careful Cultivation, Jukai Preserver, Season of Renewal, ... Looking forward to the tokens!
Gameplay-wise, Experimental Synthesizer and Disruption Protocol stuck out to me.
