On one hand we might get more cards with art styles similar to the showcase cards for Kamigawa which have really made this set my new favorite, on the other it feels like WOTC will jump into bed with just about any other IP these days.

Would it be hypocritical of me to say that I don't like this when I bought Miku sleeves as a joke when I was on a holiday in Japan? And I wanted to get the miku guitar pedal too as a joke?..... I just thought it would be funny, but it's real now lol.
Call me an old fashioned Magic player, but it's a bit too much for me. I understand they're branching into other IPs, but I don't even know who this character is, and people are calling it an animated waifu. Why bring this, as well as Fortnite and other things into MtG?
I do think that the spirit of Magic is dying slowly, and although I love the game it seems to be drifting into that endless desperate grab for money and attention.
If it is a Secret Lair or equivalent level of product that won't have mechanically exclusive cards (eventually, due to the re-flavored reprint promise), then what would it matter at all? I cannot imagine there being enough depth to the lore to create a UB product like AFR or even Commander decks.

this one feels like a goof of a promotion. if you were into it, cool. based on views though it looks like far more of us just weren't interested.
to me it was just boring music, and an even more boring video to go with it. like, super low effort lazy in how it was done.
blah blah blah different budgets they'll scream, to which i say you can still move money from one budget to another, and the funds that went into this thing should've gone into the budget for card design and balance - once again.
that said, i'll take this over the walking dead every day.
