Yeah I like this. A 3/3 defender with reach for 2 mana seems pretty good by itself just for buying you a lot of early time and preventing death by annoying small flyers while the ground is gummed up.
I'm all for more enchantment creatures, but I think they should still look like they'd be enchantment creatures ... this is just a snake with a bow. There are also a lot of random artifact creatures in this set, but those at least have some cyborg-esque metal enhancements.

It seems like the "thing" for enchantment creatures in this set is that they're somehow connected to the kami, though most have been much clearer about that than this one is.
Liking all the Channel cards so far, especially stuff like this card that stick effects you don't really want to spent an entire card slot for in Limited.

Indeed.
Here the enchantment part looks more like an afterthought, while for "nyx" cards, the artwork already shows the intend.
They cant make these here in the "nyx" style, but its clearly just randomly added on many of these cards (makes much more sense on the sagas that become creatures, they have a distinct themed look).
I have to imagine this being one of greens better common creatures in the set. Sure, it can't attack, but unless your deck is *super* aggressive, a 2 mana 3/3 reach that is also incidentally a 5 mana plummet is pretty much always going to trade for at least one card of your opponents, and being only 2 mana, it's probably going to be an even or up in mana trade.
I seem to remember Moat Piranhas being better than they appear at first glance in limited, and this just stacks on even more value. Reach is fantastic on a defensive creature, the Channel ability is great, and it's even an enchantment to trigger any enchantment-matters payoffs.
I do feel like they could do a little bit more to distinguish the enchantment creatures. I like them being more open and flexible stylistically and creatively and don't mind if as a result it's not always obvious what is or is not an enchantment creature from the art, but these are pretty hard to tell. Add like bits of swirly energy or something idk. They do have the frame so it's not too easy to miss by the time it comes to gameplay but it does comes a little bit of an oh wait moment.
Hopefully we see more enchantment creatures in non-Theros sets and they can iterate on different executions. We can get a bit of a pattern going by then and people can have a better idea what to expect.
It seems to be mostly a mechanical distinction between the tradition(enchantments) vs progress(artifacts) theme of the set.
I agree that it's not well reflected in the art/feel of this one though.
While I agree that it's not the best choice to signify enchantment creatures overall they consistently have little "doodads" in their art similar to what Kami have had since original Kamigawa-block; in this art it's the shining bamboo arrows in another its shining swords.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.

you can always draft/limit it because of the channel ability
you got a defender for attacker and late game instant speed flyer removal
