Ok, can somebody explains to me what happened exactly lorewise? I always tought that it's impossible for planeswalkers to be phyrexians and viceversa. A phyrexianized planeswalker lose the spark and a phyrexian can never hold a spark. So what exactly happened here?
A planeswalker's spark is attached to their soul. For eons, Phyrexia has been trying to grow/retrieve a spark, to zero success, because none of them have souls. New Phyrexia understands that, so Jin-Gitaxias were to Kamigawa to study the spirits on the plane. NOW, they know how to get to the spark. Full details on that is explained in this Twitter thread.
There's no need to keep me in Eiganjo," he drawled silkily. "I already have what Phyrexia wants."
Kaito turned, brow furrowed, and watched in horror as Tamiyo's hand flashed and the Reality Chip came to life.
Tamiyo wasn't prepared for the hold Tezzeret would have over her, or how it would sever her connection to her story magic. She reeled, face ashen, and clutched her hand to her chest.
Kaito barely had time to process her distress before Tezzeret lunged, grabbing Tamiyo's trembling body by her shoulders. Snarling, Tezzeret lashed at the air with his metal arm, and a violent, jagged line split through the sky. The crack of electricity pierced Kaito's ears as he watched the portal grow to Tezzeret's full height.
Tezzeret yanked Tamiyo through the snapping light, and they both vanished from the rooftop.
Kaito took a step forward, blinking like he was trying to will everything back to how it was. But it was no use. The portal gave a metallic hiss and snapped shut.

I'm missing some parts. How is the Karn part explained exactly? I tought that when he was corrupted by phyrexians he stopped being a planeswalker and only when venser gave him his spark, him being a planeswalker again meant to be "Liberated" from phyrexian oils. If thats not the explanation than what?
That thread says that Venser's spark carried some of Melira's metaphysical immunity to compleation when he transferred it to Karn, implying that some of that immunity rubbed off on Venser in the first place.

Other way around, when he gave up his spark during the mending his body was made mortal and the hearthstone started to corrupt him. He was able to planeswalk to Mirrodin where he was captured at some point by the New Phyrexian who tried to brainwash him into being the father of machines.
Later Elspeth, Koth, Melira and Venser found him and Melira was able to cleanse him somewhat but couldn't heal his heart as it was a heart stone. So Venser, who was dying, teleported his heart?/soul/spark into Karn, which allowed Melira to full heal him. Venser also had been giving the immunity.

I’m going to be LIVID if Tamiyo actually suffered this fate
I guess I have to give you pretty bad news in this case, fellow Tamiyo fan. Have to admit, I was not expecting them to do that either, and I am at the same time frustrated and intrigued about it.
On the one hand, another story arc with a new big bad is kind of neat. On the other, I hate the "oh, this character you loved? They're brainwashed and evil now" thing. I honestly would've preferred Tamiyo to die. WotC's anti-human bias also continues to show - why not have one of the random human planeswalkers suffer this fate, I'm sure we have over a dozen of them at this point.
The boring part about an established character (human or not) becoming compleated is that it basically removes all nuance from them. Once they're Phyrexian, they are nothing more than a "doing evil things for the sake of being evil" type of caricature.

I don't know, the story depicted quite well that Tamiyo, even compleated, isn't just evil for evil's sake now, her love for her family was warped to a love for Phyrexia. She wants to protect and nurture it, which seems like a very different kind of motivation. Also I bet we will get quite a few more compleated planeswalkers, and certainly many human ones at that.

Overall the new phyrexians seem to be leaning toward a lot more diversity of opinion (urabrask, vorinclex, both not really on the same page with the machine cult stuff), and they're still working with the obviously treacherous tezzeret. I really don't get the same evil for evil's sake vibes... at least in the story. The cards pretty much just have a "oooo scary robots" vibe.
Also I bet we will get quite a few more compleated planeswalkers, and certainly many human ones at that.
It certainly seems unlikely they made a whole “compleated” mechanic only to use it once, ever.
It will probably be fairly common in the New Phyrexia equivalent of War of the Spark.
Also, this whole Tamiyo mess would bother me a bit less if this card were less… mediocre.
Could the spellbook not have indestructible, at least?!
Actually planeswalkers *used* to be immune to compleation. Old walkers were practically demi-gods. Old walkers like Urza, Karn (pre-mending) and Koth were basically immune to most poisons and could regenerate with a thought. In fact, in the Invasion storybook, as Phyrexian ships were invading Dominaria one of them launched a tentacle at Urza and began pumping Phyrexian oil into him. He ended up ripping the tentacle out of its launcher and wasn’t even phased. Also, Yawgmoth, before he became a god, wounded the planeswalker Dyfed by jamming a dagger in her head and then dissected her to figure out if she had a planeswalker ‘organ’.
And don’t forget: Karn was originally animated by Urza using a Phyrexian heart which cracked when Karn’s spark activated upon using The Legacy Weapon. He had been dripping Phyrexian oil for years but never turned Phyrexian. It wasn’t until after the mending that he began to be infected because he was no longer a demi-god.
These neo-walkers are mortal and their bodies are not manifestations of their will like old walkers. It appears that they *can* be compleated. And yes, Tamiyo being compleated makes me a sad panda.

I totally agree with you. It just is a slap in the face on so many levels. First and foremost Tamiyo is the planeswalker who could so easily be the Saga matters planeswalker. And not only that she is a pacifist. I just want to be done with this story so bad wake me up in three years I guess lol.

Embrace the dark you call a home,

Sing with me a song of conquest and fate
The black pillar cracks beneath its weight
Night breaks through the day, hard as a stone
Lost in thoughts all alone

I've seen so many monkey's paws in MTG lately. I hope for a fairy planeswalker and get a psychopath, I hope for Tamiyo to show up on her own plane and she's Phywrecked. I'm calling it right now: In 2023, the Phyrexians will invade Kaladesh. It would be the perfect crap cherry to top this crappy, insulting travesty of a storyline. Take something I loved and ruin it for cheap shock value.
I always find complaints about bad things happening to popular characters a little silly.
“Why couldn’t it have happened to a character I don’t care about?!”
Because you wouldn’t care. If they only did things you won’t care about then you wouldn’t care about any of it. The reaction they’re getting with this decision is the entire point. You don’t like that this bad thing happened to Tamiyo because you care about the character, which means they did their job correctly.

No because it makes me not care about the rest of the story. Having a character lose all connection to who they are and have no control over their actions isn't an interesting plot point to me. Essentially the Tamiyo we cared about is dead but we now have this husk that has no real identity staring at us. Couldn't the same be said about Phyrexia? They had years in the lime light and they lost I don't see why we need to spend more years rehashing the same storyline only now we have phyrexian planeswalkers oooohhh so exciting.

Cause it hurts more. Tamiyo isn't a hero, she's a researcher and mother who never wanted to have an adventure/quest but just write down stories and histories of the multiverse to share with her partner and kids and actively tried to avoid danger and conflict when she could.

There’s no denying it I’m Sorry
jin Was studying the kami because it was the closet thing to a spark and they cracked it tamiyo is victim number one
and Jay Annelli clarified we were all wrong about sparks making them immune to being compleated.
yawgmoth wanted to do it to but it was even harder for him he was close with Dyfed
The bad news is, WotC hasn't exactly been nailing the landing on long-term storyline.
