The enchantment and Planeswalker modes are almost always good if they hit. Hitting a creature token sucks, but worst case there, they still lose 4 and you draw 2 cards.
Is that actually a take, in some way, on an old unspeakable (heh) card whose name also contained "Invoke" and which had four mono-colored pips in its mana cost?
Edict effects are always heavily boardstate dependant.
still, 5 mana on a 3 for 1 effect isn't bad.
Not always. This one for example is not boardstate dependant at all. In the worse case, if opponents cant sacrifice anything they still lose six life and you draw 3 cards, which at 5 mana its definitely a good rate. This is never, in any case a dead card, it can even straight kill out an opponent if he's low enough in life. But of course only in monoblack or bicolors decks full of duals.

Yeah unless you have a straight up better card in hand I don't see a boardstate where this is something you wouldn't want to play. It won't fix everything, but it will fix a couple things and replace itself.

This mass edict spell is interesting, but could feel too color-intensive in many situations. Anyone know how mono-black will be after release?

It's also the Bundle promo.

And that’s K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth

ok this is a cycle and it’s basically a attempt of mono colored ultimatums
I feel like those would just be the Decrees
I'd like to think it implies the actual "Night's Reach", but I'll wait for the green one to mention "Life's Web" to confirm.
