As to Shorikai, not sure. Google says "Processing Meeting" but that's seems meaningless. Curious if it means anything to a native speaker. As to Moonfolk names, are Erayo and Tamiyo weird and Kotori stock? I don't know enough about Japanese names to tell one way or the other.
Well, it's the proper name of a vehicle, so I don't expect it to be just a mix-and-match of words you'd find in a dictionary. At the moment it still gives off that kind of vibe though, as I'm drawing a blank on similar real-world naming.
OG Kamigawa moonfolk names had components that you usually don't see in Japanese names, like names ending in a long -yo sound (Tamiyo, Uyo, Erayo...) or a -ku sound (Meloku). In the Japanese localization their names are also all written in Katakana, strongly implying foreign-ness. This only makes sense when you consider that their design was influenced by the tale of Princess Kaguya and the "rabbit in the moon" trope.
Kotori not a common name today, but compared to the old moonfolk names, it's not hard to imagine a real person having this name (including the Kanji it would use, maybe 琴理). Katsumasa is definitely just a regular name that regular people have today (maybe a bit antiquated). I wonder if they will still use Katakana even though it doesn't really make sense for names that are Japanese through and through like Katsumasa.
Chishiro is a great equipment and counters matttrs card. You can simply move the equipment every turn and the +1/+1 counters will pile up, almost like proliferating every turn.
Just as I was planning to remove green from my artifact cube and this comes along. Not enough to bring it back yet but this will slowly justify green getting back.
it makes sense though given the more traditionalist values
