Now we get the story of how the dragon spirits got reincarnated
hand down most beautiful art to date
I'm Confused on the reincarnation jugan being rainbow scaled and the antlers looks elk like, whats weird is in the promotional art she's mono green scaled and the antlers look moose like.
either mistake in depiction or is this a 6 card cycle and jugan is the 6th one
remember they did a 6 card cycle for the elder dinosaurs in rivals of ixalan
Read that story. Then read the OG Kamigawa block's previous stories mentioning Jugan ("The Dragon Shield", "The Last Visitor").
Those stories consistently mention that Jugan is male.
Only a few, often mutually contradictory conclusions I can make as to why this is the case:
The ritual to resurrect Jugan changed Jugan's gender (this is inconsistent with "The Dragon-Kami Reborn"'s "While she had lain dead")
Jugan can change his/her gender as s/he sees fit
The narrator of "The Dragon-Kami Reborn" did not do their gender pronoun research well enough
The narrators of the OG Kamigawa block stories did not do their gender pronoun research well enough
Given the (at least seeming) retcon of the Sisters of Flesh and Spirit, I'm the most willing to believe my third conclusion. The narrator(s) of these Sagas is/are looking more and more unreliable by the minute....

This is such a fun and realistic way to do a story about history and historians, I hope the impact isn't just lost on folks who write it off as "dumb and confusing." They're not like wrong but actually most history is dumb and confusing and pieced together by a patchwork of unreliable narrators where emergent strains of inaccuracy flourish.
We've seen one 5 color saga already and two seems unlikely. Primevals' Glorious Rebirth was notably 2 color in spite of depicting the return of a cycle of 5 dragons.

we know it’s atleast green since jugan was the one to planned the whole rebirth of the dragons including himself and ryusei (it said she in this story page but they clearly screwed up and forgot they called jugan a he in the old kamigawa stories)
actually more I think about it might be witch maw saga jugan there has all the colors but red and that’s easily due to ryusei just being alive.

Also possible that reincarnated Jugan is female. Who knows how magic dragon spirit eggs work - it changed out her claws for hooves, so why not?
As for the color, could it be this is the front side of Remnant of the Rising Star? Then unless the front and back are mismatched it would be mono-green.

I'm personally dead certain that this is the front side of Remnant of the Rising Star.
While it's pretty possible that the green member of the Neo Kamigawa Dragon Spirit cycle is female, that still doesn't erase the fact that the OG Kamigawa stories consistently refer to Jugan as male. From what I know about religions with reincarnation, none of them require you to always reincarnate as the same gender.

Meet the original art, on the card and the actual piece. The frame bits were digitally added (it's meant to to be one gilded folding screens), while the original piece was made with gold leaf.
The carved wood frame was a digital addition, and the main art is oil and 24k gold leaf on an 18x36 board. At the time this was the biggest piece I had ever made.

But if this is about the five dragons, then it might be prismatic. So who knows what this particular saga will consist of.
