On the fan, she's depicted wearing clothes patterned with the Konda crest, which she wore throughout her life, signaling her refusal to shy away from her father's legacy or leave it hidden in the shadows.
Is it just me, or is Wizards retconning the Sisters of Flesh and Spirit?
Either that, or pulling our leg to prepare for a big revelation that Michiko is the Wanderer.
That's a distinct possibility I'm still considering - that Michiko ascended as a member of the Sisters of Flesh and Spirit instead of actually dying and the Saga writer and their sources never picked up on that.
(Reminds me of one of my head-canons for a different game series, where the historians and genealogists picked up that one of their society's greatest heroes had allies who learned under him and/or co-founded an organization with him that still survives today, but never realized that the hero's allies were all his friends and the hero doted on them.)

For the record... the Sisters were seen some decades ago during the temporal crisis. Leshrac encountered them when planehopping and fighting Bolas.
And that was 1000 years after the Kami War, beyond the lifetime of a human.
I call BS.
I do agree with quite a bit
My theory is michiko kept it a secret from the civilians that she bonded with kyodai
Infact tezzert probably kidnapped the emperor hostage so kyodai's radar gets disabled so Jin gitaxias can get in. Basicly so they can't stop phyrexians from getting in, like they did when they prevented leshrac from getting in.

I think the title is hereditary, with "Sister of Flesh" just being one of the many titles of Kamigawa's emperor (referring to the patronage and partnership with Kyodai herself).

Eh, please make your proper research before making such comments.
Read Guardian, the only thing we had on this. They were described to join/fuse with Kyodai, intermingle, and then BOTH became recreated as very special spirits, that were able to destroy the manifested O-Kagachi, and then become the new embodiment of the barrier between the worlds.
It is not like they remained a mortal and a kami. There is virtually nothing that supports your theory
I can accept that the sagas (and the articles) are meant to be inaccurate descriptions of what happened on Kamigawa, or precisely, what the denizens THINK that happened.

I agree with Caranthir, the Sisters of Flesh and Spirit are Kamigawa's immortal and most powerful entities - its Worldsoul. I really hope this is just an attempt to build mystery and intrigue, not retcon.
I would guess based on the little story that michiko was uncomfortable with the idea of being an immortal emperor ruling the world since she already didn't like being referred to as emperor in her lifetime so she just picked an arbitrary time to "die" and basically disappear from history. Probably hung out in the spirit realm for a bit.

Might still.
This is exactly the kind of dangling thread that might be picked up in the story of the very expansion we are about to get, so preemptively calling them out seems uncalled for.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.

So, mechanically, from the leaked Kami War// O-Kagachi, Made Manifest, we can assume that this artwork belongs on a flip saga. Therefore, the backside should be a fairly powerful representation of the Sisters of Flesh and Spirit?

The saga creatures seem like they might be ways for them to print "new" version of past characters who might not be around and Michiko, the mortal, is gone so this might be Michiko alone.

Likely, since (if the leaks are correct), Kyodai already has a card in this set.

Yes, if forgotten about Kyodai. I feel like that speaks volumes about that card.
Kyodai's should have been 6 mana and said: ETB, place a Divinity counter on all Spirits you control, any permanent with one has Indestructible + her second effect

As much as I would love that since I have a 5C spirit but there’s no way in hell wizards would make something that busted in today’s era
Besides I’m having a little theory that there’s gonna be a konda that tutors for kyodai and it’s worded so you can use both as the commander's (they did a tricky way to cast a 0 cmc/madness card with asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar)
or important information
Michiko…is…claimed…to…be……DEAD!
If true
1. Michiko and wanderer not the same person
2. That’s why kyodai is alone on that leaked card

oh good catch I didn’t realize that till you said it your right
and I speculate those golden faces resemble a kami/famous figure in old kamigawa
