Light Paws is so clunkily worded to make sure that you can still get blown out by playing auras in your deck. It triggers off of auras entering the battlefield, but only if they were cast...if it only triggers on auras you cast, WHY isn't it a cast trigger? I mean, this card is literally a Grizzly Bear unless you are filling your deck with a bunch of what are (historically) one of the least competitively useful card types, so of course it needs to have a whole bunch of hoops to jump through.
Light paws is....the inevtible descentdant of Opal-Eye, Konda's Yojimbo...he's a cheap legend fox with an interesting effect
The Soul Ripper is... well i'm not sure if i'd rather take it or a Blood Researcher so...
Overly strong green spirit is over powered. green enchantments will probably be a playable thing.. i mean trample? really? damn
I don't understand how the Soulripper is a vehicle. No matter how I look at it I just can't see a "vehicle."
It's an exoskeleton/(stretch of a) mech, I suppose that's close enough.
Reminds me of that hollow, drivable person in the manga Gleipnir, though.
Mech or not I still don't see it. It looks more like an automatic thing than something someone is climbing inside. I guess we'll see with the normal art.
Lots of spells have the requirement that they were cast to get an ETB effect because they don't want you to abuse the ability unfairly. This one in particular needs the "if you cast it" because otherwise it would chain with itself.
Of note: LOTS of cards trigger on cast, not just Eldrazi. Don't know how many other creatures have an ability that triggers on cast, but there are tons of creatures that do something when you cast something else like this does.

The cards are talking about doesnt cheat you permanents in play at cast. You can't compare apple and oranges, effect without this limitation would be just broken
Cascade triggers on cast and cheats an additional spell onto the stack whenever it triggers. Cascade is also a nightmare for counterspell-heavy decks.
I agree that Light-Paws with only the ETB trigger would be nuts because it would chain a lot of Auras out of your library. Looks like Light-Paws with only the cast trigger would be kinda nuts because you could tutor darn near any Aura you want through counterspells. (I guess Wizards might be learning the lesson Urza's Saga should have taught them...?)

Good point on Cascade. But I believe everybody agree it's a broken mechanic and that we would never see in Standard again. It's pretty much on storm and dredge levels of degeneracy.
Cascade is gloriously broken, but the last set it got a new card in was the fairly recent Modern Horizons 2. Even if Cascade (justifiably) never reaches Standard again, Wizards has shown that it is consistently not afraid to print new Cascade cards.

You made the statement that only the Eldrazi trigger on cast. You're free to clarify as you wish. If we're talking about only effects that cheat permanents into play, (a) that's not what most of the Eldrazi cast triggers do anyway and (b) you're still wrong, but with only two examples that I could find that are creatures.

It has that clause because otherwise counterspell based decks couldn't do nothing when he hits the field. It makes totally sense. Any effect that works simply by "casting" the spell even if doesn't resolve, its broken, and thats why only the Eldrazi of cmc10+ have that kind of wording.
No, it has that clause because otherwise you could put an entire grip of same cmc auras into play one after the other off of a single trigger. It isn't supposed to trigger off itself. And it is worded like this rather than "on cast" so that you can't get a same name aura (the limitation of "without the name of an aura you control" wouldn't prevent this, if the same name aura was still on the stack).
I can guarantee you that is why wotc gave it that wording, not out of fear that putting an aura directly into play from your library (upon cast of another aura first) would be too unfair to counterspell decks.

Good point about the different name clause. You're absolutely right.

It is an exoskeleton in the bizarre likeness of a kami. Just a very fancy version of the thing that Ripley drove at the end of Aliens.
Vehicle enough for me.
Let this great clan rest in peace (2001-2011)

Genesis Hydra
Hatchery Spider
In any event, we can all agree with the reasoning here--doesn't make too much sense to allow for an uncounterable tutor direct to the battlefield.
