I wonder if the sagas are meant to reflect Tamiyo and her magic. It up in the air if its gonna be Tamiyo or Tezzeret getting the 3rd walker slot but a Tamiyo who interacts with sagas would be very flavorful.
I assume it started as a logistical issue of "Legendary Enchantment Creature - Dragon Spirit" being too long for the type line. Since they can't be commanders anyway, not much is lost functionally and it can be justified as them being conjured by whatever magical storytelling is going on instead of being the actual individuals.
They had said as much when talking about why the Theros gods don't have any other creature types (such as merfolk for thassa or minotaur for mogis), Legendary Enchantment Creature - God is as much as they can fit on the type line.
I wonder if this new key word "Modified" is preparation for future sets involving the Phyrexians being the next main big bad since Nico Bolas is in time out and Emrakul is still getting comfy in her new home.
Also I really hope that the rat ninja has some better art in the normal version because the telescope eye is not really working.

Never forget whose grace and favor led to your success and always give your thanks, otherwise you might be doomed to loose it.
I think these were definitely dug out of the trash at a facility; look at the gold saga... looks like it was crumpled up and thrown away. Now if these were dug out of a trash off property, nothing Hasbro can do about it. It's no longer in their possession once it is left out in the public.
So if anyone is to get canned/fined, it'll be whomever let it go in trash that went out. But really, who knows...
This raises a question of gray area/technicality... What if a cleaning staff took the waste basket it was thrown into and "accidentally" left it outside of the premises for another (by chance or staged) to find? Can a facility really be that sloppy to allow such an "accident" to occur?
I totally came up with Saga->Legend on a custom card I was working on, and later on actually proposed the possibility in this set to some friends when we saw the back sides of cards but not the fronts from the earlier leak. I guess I should feel good about the idea I came up with also being something they came up with lol.
Edit: I guess it's different with them not going with "Legendary" part but still the same concept of telling a story about a character
What is with the crumpled/wrinkled cards? Looks like someone fished these out of the trash at a printer. (Or made it to look like they were fished out of the trash at a printer.) I would imagine printers shred cards don't crumple them up and throw them in the trash.
actually learned what caused that
The leaker owns a dog it was bitting the card
No, that can't be correct, the dog would have eaten it.
"Teacher, I DID steal cards to leak, but my dog ate them."
The sagas transforming into remnants of the creature featured in the story is pretty cool! I like this take on the mechanic. I question how effective they will be, however - needing to wait two more turns to flip it, then likely a third before you can attack (except for ones that gain haste) requires a pretty drawn out game.

Yeah, cool idea but most of them will probably not be really good or one of them will be close to broken or something. It's always hard to get that good middle ground in terms of power level.
The fact that O-Kagachi somehow isn't legendary is pretty weird. Only thing making me wonder about realness.
Honestly I wish they would have just printed the backside creature version and skipped the saga. It's an awesome card and finally worthy, but now it can't be my commander

well finance wise hallowed haunting might get a hype spike because these work both ways
Saga’s make the spirit tokens from it then when they flip it pumps the tokens by +1/+1
and B instead of graveyard recursion all you need is flicker/ninjutsu to rest the saga when they flip
Did that O-Kagachi go through the wash? How do those cards look like they're already 3 years old?
At least O-Kagachi is far better than the previous iteration, but I don't like that it exiles itself making you wait another turn to swing with it.
Modified is an odd term when considering equipment. I've never seen a baseball player up at bat and went "oh man, he's modified" but I guess these mechanic words can't always be perfect.
I wonder if all Samurai will have not defined bushido or if it's just a few of them.
Modified is a translation, might not be what the actual English cards say.
Also, that's the first 2 Mana 3/1 black had gotten below rare without a downside.
Yeah I have my doubts about O-Kagachi as well. it sets off warning bells that the only one with a serious deviation from expectations also is the one that looks like it got run over by a car.
You both made one mistake
the Jugan card from the first leak isn't legendary either
I'm sure it's probably legit, but still weird. The green one says "Remnant of" so I can imagine multiple pieces of Jugan's essence floating around. O-Kagachi is specifically in physical form (Made Manifest), so the issue is more glaring. Really like the idea of flip sagas in any event.
I actually have no issues with something as powerful as O-Kagachi being able to manifest in more than one location at the same time, similar to Remnants or Echos.
This does also reinforce the idea that legends will be much less important this time around as I feel that Dominaria did a much better job of spotlighting Legendary and with Brother's War coming and Legends matter being a small design space I think that's a much better home for it.
Actually Kamigawa Neon Dynasty was confirmed to be legendary matters set. I think it's possible Historic (the mechanic) could be in this set, in which case the Saga's would still reinforce the Legendaries matter theme without being Legendary themselves.

I actually thought the wrinkling was a way of demonstrating the card as being real because the photos hope skill to wrinkle a picture is insane.

They had different art then before, seemed up dated it with the correct art. The other one looked more like a saga for Yosei.

Google's cached version had a broken image link with a slightly different URL, so that adds up. Wonder if anyone saved the other art before it went away...
Interesting there are 7 snakes in that picture. There are also 7 "golden canaries" around Bahamut in D&D lore (and MTG lore too...)
Probably just a coincidence.. ..but it's interesting all the same.
O-Kagachi has 8 heads, 7 of which are snake-like. You can also see them in O-Kagachi, Vengeful Kami. Possibly related to the eight million kami of Shinto, but I'm not sure about that one.

Yamata-no-Orochi is known for having 8 heads. Maybe the influence is there.

They did manage to fit in Legendary Enchantment Creature - Demigod at points.

Flipping cards, in paper is absolute terrible.
At least its not flipping back and forth (and you hopefully won the game if this isnt destroyed anyway).
