Mindcrank grew wings, an ability that makes sure it won't stay dead in Limited, and the ability to point the mill at yourself because you're playing self-mill. I imagine this thing sounds like hundreds of thousands of seagulls, each set at a different pitch with a synthesizer.
This art is really amazing. The recursion might be a bit too slow for this to be a true bomb (or maybe just a 6-drop isn't where it's at for this set) but this does feel like it could be quite the game ender in limited.
Are they? One's a spirit and based on Eldritch Moon they didn't seem to be affected while the other the flavor text alludes to that tentacle arm being a random piece stitchers used as they ran out of human parts, so it could be any sea creature/monster.

Some of the Gryfs were corrupted Wretched Gryff is at least one example. I don't think that Waildrifter is an eldrazi spirit though.

Embrace the dark you call a home,
Gaze upon an empty, white throne
A legacy of lies,
A familiar disguise
Sing with me a song of conquest and fate
The black pillar cracks beneath its weight
Night breaks through the day, hard as a stone
Lost in thoughts all alone
This seems REALLY weak to me. Six mana for a 4/4 flyer is okay for limited, but the "upside" is milling a couple of cards per turn and super slow recursion.
I can see taking it as a late pick on draft just for the flying body, but dont expect that youre going to mill someone out with it.

You don't have to mill whoever it is you're attacking. I'm guessing you're supposed to point the milling at yourself in Limited.
Waildrifter is just a gryff geist - all the geists have luminous "heads" with capes, but that works for the humanoid ones, not for a heron-headed bird-horse.
But yes, it is deliberately copying the Wretched Gryff illustration. But is is just a cool reference, not a confirmation of Eldrazi-stuff.

Like if this is put in your gy from your library put it in play with 3 -1/-1 counters (self mill can be making baby seagulls)
