Back to "A legendary character returns, but now as a Vampire", maybe that character could actually be Grist of Grist of the Hunger Tide fame?
I previously noticed that Wizards seemed willing to jump the gun with introducing Grist, almost as if Grist was coming in an Innistrad set.
GB is easily the least likely color combo to get a Planeswalker in Standard. We already have Nissa of Shadowed Boughs and Tyvar Kell, plus Wrenn and Seven as an extra mono-G 'walker and Professor Onyx as an extra mono-B 'walker (extra as in "not part of the usual mono-colored cycle"), not to mention all the XG and XB 'walkers.
It’s gotta be emblems. What else hasn’t been untouchable until now? MaRo won’t do poison counters and a set has to be big on things with Infect or Poisonous to have a poison remover anyway.
Grist was a request of one of our creative directors that went something like, "we have this new character we want to introduce, but she's very weird, so her card will probably be weird, so maybe Modern Horizons 2 is the right place to do it." Sold!
Grist is that one planeswalking insect queen confirmed?
...Might Grist be going to Innistrad with Wrenn (and possibly Seven) if we trust the Wrenn leaks in this year's Innistrad set packaging?
Grist as a vampiric planeswalking insect queen with a posse that stretches a mile wide seems plausible.
Kaya and the Kenriths took a while to enter Standard, so I imagine that applies to Grist, too.
