that new counterspell is nice. 4 mana is a lot, but it's a hard counter and 'shuffle your 4 best spells up for another potential go around' is worth 2 mana.
that Ambush, is she killing cultists or cathar? and it it just me or does it feel wrong for a story spotlight card to be in the dump on the last day?

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
Cathar Commando actually looks pretty playable, even in Modern and maybe even Legacy. Flash makes this Cathar's artifact/enchantment destruction one heck of a surprise, and it plays nice with Collected Company (Modern) and Thalia, Guardian of Thraben (mainly Legacy). ...Oh, and it's a Human for Modern Humans.

That's actually a reprint from Guilds of Ravnica. But the new art is decent.
Cathar Commando seems impressive. White rarely gets creatures that can hit artifacts at common.
Oh God, Devious Cover-Up and do-nothing control is back. Just... why Wizards.
Other than that unfortunate bit of news, Search Party Captain is actully pretty neat, attack with one and it's a tweaked Priest of Ancient Lore, attack with two and it's a beefed up Elvish Visionary. Moonrager's Slash is premium removal and gives Werewolves a lot of reach. Will probably see Constructed play.
And while the card itself is pretty underwhelming... I love the art of Rotten Reunion.

Oh dear. It all goes wrong. Either Tovolar wins, or he is defeated but the vampires sweep in to claim the spoils from the mortals.
Nice cliffhanger, Wotc. I'm really liking this story.
Well, the Werewolf set is followed by the Vampire set, so it seems likely Olivia replaces Tovolar as arc boss. And Tovolar is going up hand-to-hand against Arlinn. I don't like his chnces against a planeswalker, no matter the brute strength he has available.

Please, mill me. Mill my important cards. Mill my lands. Mill it all. Because I will still deal 20 damage before you can mill 45 cards most every time.
The commando took a long glass of water to fill its bladder and then took a long piss on rampage. For everyone saying that rampage was like it was because it was multi-purpose, this common is multi-purpose: can act like removal by blocking by surprise, give you a surprise attack,, plays as an instant, has it's main mode cost less mana, has a relevant type and does not give mana to your opponent. It's even modern playable replacing ouphe or cats with a SB human in the humans deck. All for the cost of not doing ramp.
Two 2/2 for one card with GY hate value? at 1 and 2 CMC? What a common.
The token has decay, but still, you get like 4 damage out of it and 2 cards.
Instant speed is pretty nice if you ever need targeted grave hate this does a good job at it.
Overall the graveyard HATE in this set is especially strong in green and black, pretty pushed cards to ensure nothing that works with the graveyard will do any good.

now in October it will be the vampires turn.

Otherworldly Gaze looks pretty good, though it does not draw you a card. Can be useful, anyway.
