At the center of the Harvesttide Festival is this gigantic astrolabe-like structure. According to the Dawnhart Coven, if they can activate and control this machine (via the use of the long-missing Moonsilver Key), they can bring balance to the day and night cycle, ending the ever-longer nights. Tovolar and his howlpack would like to disrupt that any way they can, but your howlpack might go one step further and actually commandeer the structure to enforce your endless night.
Is it just me, or does this machination look like the sharp-toothed rotating device from the end of 13 Ghosts? I really think that was the inspiration for its design.

I think the takeaway here is that this artifact controls the rotational inertia of the planet. We found this machine--oh, look, suddenly it is day. hrm... Oh, look--it is night. *insert key* *push button* No, now it it daytime again.
Story aside, its a mana rock that loots and gains life on etb, and then sporadically throughout the rest of the game. And thats BEFORE you figure in any day/night shenanigans.
I'd imagine it ironic but possible if Sorin Markov actually originally took away the Moonsilver Key from the Celestus, not to prevent the humans from skewing daytime into their favour (or more half-and-half), but to prevent the werewolves and other vampires from skewing nighttime in their favour (thus helping Avacyn and indirectly helping the humans' long-term survival so the vampires can keep feeding more sustainably).

Solid for 3 mana.
The day night switch trigger only happens when night becomes day or day becomes night i.e. when it's neither night nor day and it becomes day on etb it doesn't trigger. That's why those two abilities are worded like that.
If it's already night and you cast another spell off this straight away though you can get it to proc immediately.
Mechanics wise, I think this would better implemented as a dfc. Flavorwise I can why they did not do it. I mean it controls day/night, so it shoudn’t be affected by it.

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
This actually feels pretty mythic to me. Ok, I guess making a complicated mana rock a mythic might also not be the best of things, seeing this isn't Mox Celestus.

Do we know that there is any Innistrad beyond the geography we have seen?

I believe the Guide to Innistrad talks about it some. Like unusual were creatures from beyond the continent. That said given the ocean I wouldn’t want to try traveling across it.

Knowing is such a strong word, but IIRC there was a source telling us about another continent where lycanthropy actually wasn't wolf-ased but created more exotic were-animals. It could be in-universe tall tales or alternatively entirely genuine Word of God.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.

I think I would have been happier if this was in kaldheim as summer/winter instead of here as day/night. Being here does clean up the transform feeling a lot but in Kaldheim as summer/winter It would allow for snow-covered/non-snowcovered DFC. Which would help with the rate/low power issues on snowcovered permanent if they could be turned off or had to flip.
I read that as The Cletus. Well hot dang there mama we got ourselves a magic card there thang! YEhAW!
All this day n night stuff is making wonder if Kid Cuddi had a hand in its design.
I'll be alright.

I think that's the theme of every fricken plane we've seen since Magic's inception (allegedly we've seen a good portion of Dominaria that we know of. That mean there's more to Dominaria itself [not counting Jinuoe] out there?). Way too much world jumping; not enough in depth world exploration like with Dominaria and Ravnica to an extent.

At least with Dominaria we have the sense that it's a whole sphere. Amonkhet seems to be pretty much a single oasis city inside a world that is otherwise desert but there's reasons that work for they. Innistrad and Ixalan are probably the biggest mysteries, and Innistrad could work as just a tiny city floating on a rock in space.

you can use the night/day thing to your atvantage in case of decks that need it.

Wondering if there will still be a day/night version of moonmist but I’m really happy to have this in its place if nothing else.

Finally a good white villain quote: "So, do I ever re-evaluate my life choices? Never, because I know what I'm doing is a righteous cause."

man... what's going on with this set rares/mythics?
I mean, every single card that got me hyped so far was uncommon.
