Sometimes you just need to push in as much damage as possible, whether through blockers or not. Main use will be aggro decks in Limited, but I could see this in a Werewolf tribal Standard sideboard if it gets desperate enough.
Decent limited card that will save your creature and maybe oush a little damage through. Makes attacking easier if you have this in hand.

Tovolar's dire strain might also infect people faster among other differences they already mentioned.
