under what condition does it not transform ? if it is day and not night ? (and if thats the case, how can it be in day version when it is night ? sorry, last part of the card confuses me a little)

Maybe something gimmicky like if it became a werewolf and you had Immerwolf out? Are there other cards that prevent transformation?
The wording seems like it would only apply to that sort of situation rather than cheating the transform, but maybe something in the rules applies to that also.

Maybe if it gets killed in response. That's the only explanation that comes to my mind, it's there to avoid weird situations.
Also, do I understand it correctly that this one doesn't transform with the day/night cycle? It lacks the "daybound" keyword.

That last ability is a replacement effect, not a trigger. Your opponent can't respond to it.

Because they're not werewolf, they care about the day/night transiction. Exactly how in the original innistrad sets werefolves has their own way to transform, while everybody else got a different and unique way that differ from card to card.

One reason it might not transform might be because it is a Clone/token copy. IIRC copyeffects only copy the characteristic of the "up" face and don't transfer information about the other face onto a permanent becoming a copy. Cards that aren't DFC cannot transform.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.

There may likely be a "permanents can't transform" card or something in this set.

Without the "lose the game" clause, copying the front face would mean your life total would never hit zero.
Honestly in my opinion this is what a mythic should be like. It is fun and if you let it take off it can win you the game but it isn't a obvious staple card nor one that tilts the game in your favor the moment it is played.
It just looks like fun to play with.

No, replacement effects don't stack. It's because copies of it can't transform and would break things.
"614.1. Some continuous effects are replacement effects. Like prevention effects (see rule 615), replacement effects apply continuously as events happen—they aren’t locked in ahead of time. Such
effects watch for a particular event that would happen and completely or partially replace that event
with a different event. They act like “shields” around whatever they’re affecting.
614.1a Effects that use the word “instead” are replacement effects. Most replacement effects use the
word “instead” to indicate what events will be replaced with other events."
How refreshing it is to see a "heroic" transformation with DFC, don't get much of that on Innistrad.

Ah, the dreaded "trigger versus replacement" situation. Fair enough.
Personally, I wish that this card made you gain 3 life as a replacement effect instead of setting your life.
it would make the card more playable in multiplayer as a Craterhoof-type attempt to knock you down to nothing from high life would raise your life a bit higher and leave you with a 20/20 or bigger attacker on your turn and other players would be incentivized to whittle down your life before knocking you out… instead of knocking you down to 3 and letting the next player easily kill you.
We start the Midnight Hunt with the usual Angel that refuses to let you die... and the back end that will make sure your opponent dies instead.

This is the correct answer.
I'd expect "It becomes day" or "it becomes night."
it doesn't transform it's removed on response.
a 3/3 flying double striker for 5 isn't bad in terms of power.
and everything else is pure upside.
and the card is very unique and weird which is exactly what a mythic should be.

Yes,
No.

If this had Flash or something I think it'd be a cool trick and worth the investment. Else this has a giant target on it the moment it hits the board.
Cool story though.

would even see some historic play with command the dreadhorde, most likely.
As it is now, it’s basically an Angel of grace without flash.
Because it's bad?
Also, Forbes are previewing a card? What the **** lol
