So Transform confirmed, not that was ever any doubt. Anyway, the idea of "you are cursed, then later a monster appears" brings to mind The Ring and similar movies.
a new drawback for creature tokens that lets us create them cheaper
Interesting. In Innistrad there are three tribes that have been often tied to tokens, those being Zombies, Spirits and Devils. I doubt Spirits need any drawback to make them "cheaper" since most effects that create Spirits are already pretty cheap, while Devil tokens are some of the most well-defined and popular tokens in the game, so I'm assuming this new drawback is tied to Zombies? Maybe something that captures the idea of them being super slow better than just ETBT?
• “As [CARDNAME] enters the battlefield, note your life total.”
Could be a topdown design based on The Picture of Dorian Gray? Not sure why said design wouldn't want to use counters though so maybe I'm wrong.
I think it might be Ludevic. He should be a life and he didn't got a card in a Innistrad set. In addition the player base was kind of sad with him being a Izzet political card. Note that Mark mentioned that the character was once mentioned in a short story not just in a short story.
Here's a sampling of cards with 4 arts that seem like they might be the one getting a fifth: (and here is the full list, assuming no weirdness throwing off Scryfall's count)
Edit: struck a couple because of language referring to regeneration.
It's still possible that we get a flavourful bummer like Ancient Grudge (let's do the sideboard hate dance one more time), Fiery Temper (oh man, this coming back for another Innistrad run), Mortify (it sounds really appropriate), or maybe even Magma Spray (if the Innistradi devils align).

Magma Spray seems unlikely since we already have a Shock variant for the set, but I probably should have included the others.
A white face, shining like the moon, leans close to mine. Her lavender eyes gleam with excitement as she explains a theory to me, about something she calls "cryptoliths." Is she the one touching my mind? I reach for her mind—she's not there, of course. I feel around again, searching for the intruder—something lurking at the very edge of my awareness?
It's his memory again. The writing in the book—it's a journal—is hers. He couldn't possibly know or understand what she is: one of the moonfolk from Kamigawa. A Planeswalker. It will take a little more time to puzzle out her writing.
I flip to the back of the book, blank pages, and move toward the front until I find the last writing—but this isn't the careful script of Kamigawa. It's written in a different hand, probably his. Jenrik—he wrote his name at the start, when he took over, after she entrusted the journal to him and sent him here.
This is not new. Every 'normal' Werewolf from Innistrad (excluding Emrakul's corruptions from Eldritch Moon) is a Human Werewolf on front face (sometimes with a third type too) and just Werewolf on back face. However, "Soldier" would make me think that perhaps it's a white Werewolf. Most Soldiers are white.
It would be fitting, IMO, for Arlinn to have organized a werewolf army to help defend humans from the other monster types, perhaps in exchange for lenience towards other werewolves.
She was an Archmage of Goldnight, I could see her going Naya and leading a sort of W/R/G "Pack Goldnight."
There were also still a few Wolfir left that could be involved.

oh you know what I’m gonna throw in a prediction that the naya werewolf tribal will throw in wolf tribal basicly both werewolf and wolf tribal this comes to mind ever since I saw Tolsimir, Friend to Wolves selesyna wolfs and there’s next to none wolves in white.
<type> horror? I instantly think of Eldrazi hybrids but they're supposedly not a thing this time around so it's probably your "typical" horror type non-Eldrazi.
Would not mind if this horror was a being that was transformed by the diminished influence of Emrakul in the innistrad moon, could be cool having a throwback to that (soo it is not totaly forgoten) with a flavor text like "Its been years since the battle in Tharaben but from times to times we are reminded of the terror lurking in what was once the heron's moon" or something like that
I could see either or, though I think having partly transformed eldrazi that haven't crossed over from horror to eldraiz would be a good compromise of not having eldrazi on the plane while still showing the influence of Emrakul. Looking back most of the horror creatures in Innistrad 1 where zombies and few random ones that don't seem to have much flavor to them.

"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
The new werewolf transform mechanic revolves around a day and night mode which changes the battlefield.
The original werewolves had a sun and moon icon on each side so I wonder if it will be backwards compatible.
If I remember right they wanted something like this. I think it would be very flavorful. There was a Buffy the Vampire Slayer CCG from the early 2000's that used a day and night cycle which you kept track of with a card so I don't think it would be too hard to keep track of in magic.

Also, a PROPER card for Ludevic would be good, not the UR atrocity from Commander.
'Bout time someone else has that opinion. Honestly, I kind of expected Ludevic to be what Grusilda came to be (with less rules headaches of course.) Basically The Mimeoplasm that makes the tokens.
So two of the three returning mechanics are confirmed as flashback and transform. But what could be number three? My best guess is undying, but I am really hoping for more madness.

Absolutely! Ludevic is 100% supposed to be Frankenstein, so why not create monsters out of body parts? It made no sense to see him as a creature that draws cards based on damage. They were really struggling to figure out what UR did, and they just said "Oh yeah, damage and card draw!!" I could still see him relating to card draw, or discard, but there *needs* to be some monster-creation aspect to his character.

I think the thing that really bugged me was the group hug effect he had. I'm sorry, when was the last time you saw this necromantic scientist feel like spreading the love?
Can anyone explain the concept of splitting up Midnight Hunt and Crimson Vow?
I had assumed that Midnight Hunt was going to be a very heavy focus on werewolves and the story behind them. While Crimson Vow was the same thing but for Vampires. So, seeing such little talk of werewolves in the couple of previews, albeit it early, is strange to me. We have gotten two early previews and the confirmation of a lack of werewolf preconstructed commander deck. So far, in the previews that we have seen, the only thing we know about werewolves is that there is one in the set and we have seen a box art with Arlinn. We've seen as much information about vampires as we have seen in of werewolves in the "werewolf" named set.
My whole point isn't that there needs to be more werewolves, since we haven't seen the set yet. My point is, why split this set up into two if there is going to be overlap between them anyway?
Do you all think that this is more of a way for Wizards to test out the old multi-set block system again?

From the start they have out right said the new set system would let they do w/e in terms of setting, even having "blocks" with multiple sets on the same plane with similar mechanical themes, we even saw this with how Ravnica 3 was a "block" and both Dominaria and Eldraine where both gonna to have another set on that plane. Maro talked on this was to help with story and/or mechanical flexibility (though they seem to still be figuring this out) so until we learn more of the I'm guessing at the moment they think there is some mechanical space they wanted to play with for two sets or a story needed more than one set. As they said werewolves are gonna be different in some way this time and they might have wanted to have two sets worth to make sure there is enough of them. If transform is still involved that would limited the number of card they can do in a set, more so if they want some non-werewolf transform cards in werewolf colors.
My speculation is that Maro said they wanted to have more mechanical connection between sets and figured having two sets on the same plane in a row would help and Innistrad being both popular and has a strong mechanical/flavor base could fit over two sets and sell well. Also might have been a way to sell the Kamigawa 2 set, again Innistrad is popular so it will likely sell well and could be a safty net in case kamigawa fails*.
*not to say it will, but if a big issues of going back to kamigawa was fear it wouldn't sell well then having two sets before it that will likely sell well helps.

They specifically said werewolves will be a big reveal because they are trying something new with them. That's the reason why they aren't randomly revealing werewolf cards.

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
