and yes many more cards for both of these catergories
Necropotence only works if you go around the table first, since you only get the cards in your hand on your end step.
I really don’t think this is going to be anywhere close to Thassa’s Oracle, because the cards that combo with Oracle cost 1-2 mana while the cards that combo with Triskaidekaphile cost... significantly more. You have to jump through more hoops with this one.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
Join the Dance really should have cost GW1 to flashback, I mean look at Lingering Souls which makes flying tokens for so much less mana.
Well, Lingering Souls is a significantly overpowered token maker, thats far from the gold-standard to compare to.
Flashback 3 would allow you to curve this after another or double cast a topdeck much easier, and if there are some human-triggers for the tokens, its pretty powerful on what it can do.
If this would be in like "Modern Horizon" it would need to be costed more aggressively, but here its done for standard.
I'm seeing neat stuff, Champion is a nice callback and appropriate, the usual strong/decent PW that may not see much Standard play but it bonkers with lands in EDH, etc.
I like the full art lands, especially the swamps as the outline really pops on it.
Really the most interesting thing about this set is rotation.
As much as I like zombies, it's a massive massive massive flavour fail not having a werewolf themed commander deck for this release.
That Champion of the Perished is awesome though!
It’s the sound of every UR Modern player replacing their Opts with Consider.
Did you hear that? It's the sound of every commander deck with black putting in Infernal Grasp
Really what a bonker removal. Why no one is talking about it?

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

dude…
i didn't even talk about doing a extra turn spell before doing any of those and I’m talking final fortune type spells
uh Remember Japanese packaging of innistrad that got leak
that’s now real because the wrenn and seven card art matches one of those packs perfectly and few other arts matches some of the packages.
so where I’m going with this
Teferi is here as well
I don't think you're wrong that he'll be here, but I also don't think it's a sure thing that he's in the set. Remember back when there was the leak for Ixalan block product images (but I think the sets had different names?) with the proper art for Vraska and Huatli and new art for Ajani. People expected him to be in the block, but WotC changed things up later in design. That could have happened here as well. It's unlikely, but possible so I don't think we can say anything with certainty.
You previewed ZERO werewolves in the MIDNIGHT HUNT initial preview?!
You want them to slip a Werewolf in the middle of the recent can-we-stop-spoiler-season moaning going on? That Werewolf will be buried, and be called boring. I'd rather they hold back the exciting part of the set when people want to be excited.
Yea, I do. There should be no shortage of them in this set.
They said in the stream that there's something new about how werewolves work that they don't want to reveal yet.

I like how they just released better versions of Shock and Opt
If anyone is left playing Pioneer those 2 cards plus the black removal spell are all upgrades or additions to several decks in the meta. Can't wait to get my hands on the physical copies. I need multiple playsets.
PS: Anyone else notice that there are 13 jars (with hands) in the bundle pack promo Triskaidekaphile?
Playing since 1994: Currently MAGS (HomeBrew),Standard & Pauper (Pioneer and Modern are degenerate trash formats)
STOP using "dude/bro" as a pejorative or insult. Grow up.
Margaret Thatcher: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Martin Luther King Jr.: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
Here's to hoping the Zombie Commander deck has an actual Zombie Legend card to support the tribe. I'm hoping Gisa and Geralf aren't here again. I like them as characters but having an actual Zombie helps the tribe a lot more. Maybe a Lich?

And what if the twist is that double-faced cards won't be coming back? (Wizards had a wonderful opportunity to put in a single TDFC in the D&D set Bolas-style with Bahamut in human form -> Bahamut in dragon form and totally missed it. IMO, that and the one werewolf card in the D&D set are a sign that Wizards may be passing on DFCs for the rest of the year.)

in historic, with the bans of Lightning Bolt and Brainstorm those 2 1 mana spells are absolutely competitive and probably the best option in their slots right now.

I mean Varina and Nevinyrral already exists. If you really want to go dimir zombie tribal with a zombie legends there is always Grimgrin...
Unless they print a grixis zombie tribal legend, it will be a boring legendary
That's nonsense. Werewolves are always flipped, it's their raison d'etre.
werewolf pack leader
If werewolves don't find another niche besides transforming, they will always have these logistic issues and a true werewolf precon will be impossible

Btw thankfully all the sweep cards from saviors of kamigawa are trash tier because wren and seven could really make them work (probably someone gonna use them in commander )
I honestly thought that Sorin would stay unmarried forever. Part of me's still wishing that the wedding is between Olivia Voldaren and Runo Stromkirk instead. Part of me thinks that Runo is still bound to an oath of celibacy back when he was a priest of sea gods.
basically they are the only two blood lords left so why not marry

Then if true that's a completely moronic decision. Flipping was literally the only trait unique to werewolves. May as well make them goblins if they don't flip.

They said there are no flip cards
Also, the decks are named "Undead Unleashed" and "Coven Counters," so neither one is a werewolf deck, possibly because they didn't want to deal with DFCs in commander decks.

Or they could be returning to the status quo of doing DFCs for Innistrad sets and only the occasional other set.

Theres plenty more flexible removal that hits all kinds of permanents.
Only hitting creatures is quite restricted, and 2 mana isnt really competing in multiplayer (if speed matters, play a free removal like Snuff Out).
Whoever has creature-only point removal in the deck might want to play it (certainly better than Murder variants), but thats not that many people.
