Theres a few interesting cards in this set, but on the whole it does nothing for me in any capacity. Im not seeing any reason to crack packs since most of the few interesting cards are at common.
The dungeon mechanic also isnt doing anything for me.
They cant all be winners and im honestly glad that a set which weakens magic's identity so dramatically isnt some busted powerhouse set.
If its your jam, cool. Its not mine.
Agreed.
The set looks fun and flavorful for Limited, but also feels gimmicky and underwhelming in every possible way.
I can't imagine why anyone would randomly crack open packs or a box of this when there's virtually no ace worth chasing.
Think long term...What will possibly hold post-rotation?...foil copies of the artifact treasure land? a couple of the dragons?
Presumably, design and development didn't want this D&D set to overwhelm or impact constructed formats in many way, if any.
It may not even be that weak of a set. I mean, it's not as bad as Fallen Empires, Homelands, or Nemesis.
Perhaps it just feels that way because of all the recent power-creep we've been spoiled/inundated with?
Considering this set is in lieu of a Core set (which are generally always weaker than block "expert level" sets), the level of power-down makes sense
Personally, I like some of the uncommon half-elves, and Volo who looks amusing.
levels 5-10 lol this just makes more obvious that the ppl designing those variants were trolling or just had no idea what they were doing.
Evolving wilds tho kinda works for lvls 1-5 tho (all the lair/den-lands do not work as 16-20 tho (maybe (a big maybe for the blue and green ones))
To be fair the first adventure of the cartoon involved Tiamat.
No because the fact that Citadel is indestructible is important to decks like scissors.

Take note...at least boots of speed is a better crystal slipper!
(someone definitely has to do a Flash alter)
So remember...When it comes to wishing for strictly better versions of cards, at least some common fairy tales come true
