Permanently turn Treasures into bombs? Sure. Collapse your opponent's creature into something infinitely powerless? Go ahead. Turn another permanent into you about-to-die Commander? The only limit is your imagination (and possible targets on the board).
Yeah, but... SIX MANA.
That’s quite a lot for a “wildcard” effect like this.
Four mana would have been amazing, 5 would be expected, but 6?
No thanks, even though this is one of my favorite kinds of cards.
Commander is a turn 3ish format until they ban Thassa's Oracle. This thing is never, ever resolving to fun use while that's around.
The effect is super amusing though, so good on Wizards for doing this, at least.

The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Duel Commander (Kari Zev, Skyship Raider and Nissa, Vastwood Seer) and goofy Commander builds.
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa on Saturday afternoons or at Duel Commander at the Westboro Barley Mow (Duel Commander) on (very) occasional Monday evenings.
Darksteel Mutation is an enchantment, not an artifact or creature. I guess you could target Darksteel Mutation with Liquimetal Coating to make it an artifact until end of turn, then target your oppenent's equipment and turn it into another Darksteel Mutation.
you could do it with Darksteel Citadel as well...
anyway, as commander is a 1of format, if you're planning to do this, you'll have to play all of them anyway.
Not really. Depending of which colors you play, you got plenty of tutors, so 5-10+ tutors ( between land, artifact, generic tutors) are always 5-10+ virtual copies of the Darksteel Citadel you want in that moment.
