lol, for 4 mana per activation I was reading the card sure it was tutoring onto battlefield....
when I saw that it tutors to hand, I immediately dismissed any interest in this card.

Oh shoot, I didn't see the hand part....now I'm not too interested in it hahaha.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
If the activation cost 3 mana instead of 4, I think this might have been playable in Modern. As far as I can tell, that 4th mana kills its chances there.

even at 3 mana..... tutoring to hand and growing in CMC very slowly doesn't do this any favors.
I mean, imagine that you drop this turn 1... you basically spent your turn 1 doing nothing.
then it grows on turn 2 and you don't have enough mana to activate, you play a 2 drop, kill a dude, whatever.
then if it was 3 mana, you could activate it turn 3 to search your deck for a 2drop you would be able to cast on turn 4.... and then again, you just did nothing on turn 3.
in modern, if you don't affect the board in any way in both turns 1 and 3, I have really bad news for you.
this card is just bad, waaaaay to clunky.
to have a chance it would need to tutor onto battlefield, but then it would probably be kinda broken.

I don't think it would be broken even tutoring to BF. Pod was really good, but its activation costs just 1. You can pay 4 lives and 4 manas to play it and sac in the same turn. With this, you must pay 5 (2 of them Green) and you must WAIT some turns for counters, so if you did not played it first or second turn, it will be useless. Even if you did, you should pay 5 to get a 3 mana creature in 4th turn, 9 to play that creature and a 4 mana creature and so. Too expensive. Pod excels because of its cheap activation, allowing you to play control with your lands.
So, if this is bad even into BF, like it is now is unplayable in any deck. Worst card in the set, even counting commons.

(Normal version is the same art)
This is the teaser and it was the Anstruth harp of the instruments
it’s like Aether vial and Citanul Flute melded on this card
I guess you can say it’s a weaker variant of Yisan, the Wanderer Bard (but better as well since it’s optional rather than force)
when I saw that it tutors to hand, I immediately dismissed any interest in this card.
And since sarcasm seems to be a lost art these days I feel compelled to say, no, I’m not being serious.
