Today, Gavin interviews AFR lead designer Jules Robbins on his Wizards career, and the long story of the venture mechanic. They also present a very direct interpretation of the saying, "the only way out is through."
Actually one of the better if not best dungeon card seen, albeit it requires a very specific shell which likely doesn't fit otherwise with the dungeon mechanic.
How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
So, in my Zada deck - do I just straight up enter and clear a dungeon with this card? Or, is there a built-in limit on the number of times you can venture on a turn?
I think the incremental value from venture is probably enough for the type of deck that wants this effect in the first place. Giving haste to soul-scar mage or Ragavan isn't terrible. Scry, Goblin, +1 counter, Draw a card is not a bad chain of effects for even fast decks.
Probably the real home for this is going to be some sort of pauper deck, but I could see this in standard aggro builds.

Pretty much, yeah. I have a Zada commander deck myself, and I definitely intend to run it. Get a nice blob of Goblins on the field, and then take a few laps of the Tomb of Annihilation for R.

Big differentiation. If it was an instant it'd probably be close to an uncommon. Probably.
