Here we have the standard ramp Aura (with venture upside), and for when you really, really want to punch that Blue creature with ward off the battlefield.
still, this kind of ramp that doesn't fix is not that good in limited, and the card is not getting anywhere near constructed... so, one of those absolute filler cards that will just go from boosters to shoeboxes around the world. 99% of the copies will very likely never be cast by anyone haha
Interesting that Hunter's Mark doesn't say that it can't be countered "by spells or abilities," as spells with targets usually say. Maybe they're getting rid of that chunk of text going forward?
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.

What happens when its targets become invalid? Or is the clause just implied instead of written out now?
Maybe the wording is changed to really convey that it gets around Ward. For newer players, it's easy to assume that "abilities" mean "activated abilities".

They already got rid of the "by spells or abilities" text for a while. Getting hosed by targets being made illegal is now treated as fizzling instead.

Haven is uncommon... but yeah, it's far better.
