hey who knows this might bring hope that sol ring can get banned and in the pre-cons it can be replaced with this.
Or... maybe not?
Doesn't make sense to ban sol ring and leave mana vault and mana crypt alone
By the way i don't like this card. Terrible top deck.

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Sol Talisman looks a lot more like Lotus Bloom to me, and I think the same decks might want both.
Oops I used All is dust instead and I played my own Karn, grabbed liquimetal coating and shut off their land before they could play their own Karn.
I always find it funny how people always are so quick with "Oh yeah? But if I have x, y and z card you can't do anything haha you suck!". Yeah it may not be insane, but it looks interesting and playing something like that turn 1 could have potential versus decks with a lot of land hate. "But I have X, y, z against artifacts too!" Well you win some and you lose some. There's always something man...

I'm a much bigger fan of Urza's Saga in Green Tron (yes, it's taking up Relic of Progenitus slots) than Sol Talisman. Urza's Saga makes the Turn 4 Tron noticeably more consistent, cannot be targeted discarded or countered, makes dudes if I get it late, and doesn't get blown up by my own Oblivion Stone. It doesn't get completely hosed by opposing Karn GC (although I can't add more Tron pieces with it at this point). Sol Talisman leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I blow it up with my own O. Stone (honestly, I still can't get completely used to Ensnaring Bridge in my Karn board).
Keep in mind that Ponza and Amulet are also prone to using Karn GC, not just Tron decks.
Urza's Saga also lets Tron fight through land hate and notably gives the deck additional outs against Void Mirror.
Sol Talisman looks significantly better in Eldrazi Tron - I keep finding that 24 lands aren't enough there, and it doesn't play O. Stone - but it doesn't do anything for Eldrazi Tron's newfound Void Mirror weakness.

I know I was actually somewhat joking since theres so many other cards similar value not banned like you said
honestly I can never figure out what people can't let this go that its a battle they never gonna win. and i've yet to see something bonkers the only times its happend with me with sol ring then arcane signet then land tax
Don't suspend it--Reshape it or Whir of Invention, for x=0 in both cases. You could always Kari Zev's Expertise it. Of course, there are the other usual methods for casting cards without paying their mana costs but we aren't going to list all of them here.

I don't know man, Urza's Saga doesn't look good to me and Ensnaring Bridge is one the best options to grab with Karn.
You're right it could work better in Eldrazi Tron, but like you said, Void Mirror is basically going to **** that deck up hehe. Maybe Eldrazi Tron needs to start packing some colours other than Cavern.
Sure, if you can storm and win the turn it resolves, fine ... but it simply never produces interesting games and its terrible annoying to topdeck.
I want as less cards i hate to draw in my deck as possible.
Yep. The problem is you want fast mana early. This never lands early. By the time you can cheat this card out, you'd rather cheat out spells that do something rather than mana, so I suspect this will join the Mox Tantalite scrapheap and do nothing.
There is always a chance though that some enabler enables this some day. Basically what is needed is something that enables T1 this, as that is a big game.
Mox tantalite already sees no play. This wont either.
Honestly what makes this garbage for me is the fact that it is taking up a rare slot. Unless you have a deck that works with suspend counters the earliest this will come out is by turn three and it is telegraphed, making it easier for opponents to deal with.
[edit] My bad it comes out on turn 4, which only makes it worse.
Sol Ring at uncommon performs better than this, the only reason to put this at rare is to create scarcity in hopes we go gaga over it and crack packs for it.

Ad Nauseam is currently salvaging Lotus Bloom's chances in Modern. I think Sol Talisman similarly needs to enable something backbreaking on Turn 4 (that Lotus Bloom cannot do) in order to have a chance in Modern.

If they ever print some free spell enabler like 1 mana you may cast target card with mana value 1 or less without paying its mana cost this turn. Though I guess that's just so obviously dangerous, but over the years there have been plenty of cards like this that are total garbage at their release and then in 10 years become good when some insane enabler slips through the cracks.

Could it arguably serve as backup Lotus Bloom, which was something Mox Tantalite couldn't really do? I think, if this does have a shot in modern, it's going to be off the fact that it manages a little from Lotus Bloom (ramping for multiple mana on turn 4), and a little from Mox Tantalite (sticks around rather than sacrificing).
I'll be honest, I don't know how to evaluate this card. At best, it's Lotus Bloom numbers 5-8. At worst, Mox Tantalite is better because it gives colored mana. I don't know. I'll keep it if I ever crack one, but it might just rot in a binder.
That being said, the no-mana-cost suspend cycle extending to have an colorless rep is pretty nice.
uhhhh you can run 2 sol ring's in commander now

edit: to clarify im actually joking a little since its never gonna happen even with a less broken version

Oops, I blew mine up with Oblivion Stone.
And now my opponent's Karn, the Great Creator is hosing my second copy.

Maybe a revise version for commander like Mox for specific color like the OG moxes

It can't cast them, they have no converted mana cost, they can't be cast from the graveyard if you have to pay their costs.
