I don't think it's a flutterstorm. It's much better since you don't need to rely on storm count and the tax is higher. Flutterstorm against a typical spells is useless, this can be maindeck in control.
Edit: but given we now have counterspell, I doubt it.
I love this counterspell from an edh standpoint. One of my favorites in years.
Relatively cheap to cast, even when you have to dump mana into it
Great as a gotcha counterspell
Useable early, and late game
Can trigger magecraft a ton
Can clear a clogged stack
Unconditional in what it can counter
