Force to Plowshares over there will be amazing/annoying in Modern, depending on which side of the battlefield you're on. Apparently it sold out on preorders already. Here's hoping Recruiter of the Guard also makes it to Modern, so we can have that interaction.
I feel like Esper Sentinel's true power is in being a one-drop. Either it accumulated cards in your hand slowly, or your Gavony Township means no first noncreature spell is getting through without consequences again.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
