oh man. I love these. If it were hinting at a future world, I'd definitely lean towards space western, since a LOT of psych/stoner bands have this as a subtheme.

Latest proof this forum is a trashfire:
Your authoritarianism will be the reason the company suffers another 60M in losses.
I get what they're doing and I am glad some people like it. But I can't stomach cards that look absolutely NOTHING like a magic card.
It looks to me like Wizards and Hasbro are turning Magic into a ruleset framework. You can apply any creative theme as long as you follow the Magic rules.
That Wrath of God is totally an Occult rock album. Brilliant, I love these, even though I'm not a fan of this kind of music.
Also, that Space: The Convergence article is hilarious. I recognized many cards (Orbital Bombardment *snicker* ) but mostly how bad Magic creatures were back then. Also, the 9th Edition symbol kind of ruined it.
I like the art, but not for Magic cards. Keep them in your binders but out of your decks.

If only the art featured a Rock 'n Roll Moses throwing guitar-shaped tablets (of the ten commandments) at a crowd of fans with Dathan and the golden calf at the center of the mosh pit. Then, I might have actually ordered this!
Personally I'm not a big fan of magic cards that don't really look like magic cards, but they are nice for those that like them.
But screwing up the general formatting really bothers me - especially that preordain messing with the mana cost. I guess the drop on the forehead is supposed to display the cost, but it absolutely doesn't work for me...

Since "Party Hard Shred Harder" led up to Viking Metal world, does this mean Psychadelic Indy Band world is around the corner?

I really dig this art!!!!
sequel to the “heavy metal” lair but a different band theme “indie” I believe is the term?

This idea isn't new. https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/feature/space-academy-lesson-one-2007-12-31
While Space: Convergence was a what-if reimagining of Magic as a sci-fi card game, all the Magic rules were still there, just named differently.
