Today we take a tour of the Witherbloom grounds, and maybe even consider enrolling there.
Today's Card Image Gallery dump consists of taking "your graveyard is your second hand" way too literally, Liliana's knowledge of tyrants, a frog to dissect, leftover Prismari paint, and a mill wall.
No full-art Dragon of the day, as Shadrix Silverquill got to a very early start.
EDIT: Pigment Storm was supposed to be previewed by Dana Fischer. Here she is talking about it.
dina infinites with Exquisite Blood another one Basicly and this is a legend
how is harness infinity instant? That Basicly slightly worse Praetor's Counsel at instant speed (it’s missing the infinite hand size forever effect)
Actually, that missing text is probably exactly why it's an instant, at least that way you do get 1 turn with your 20 card hand before discarding to hand size.
Witherbloom "lifegain" theme is pretty blant , it just feels terrible.
Exquisite Blood at this point we have so much cards that combo with this, can get very very boring even in Commander if that comes up all the time (as there is no real wiggle room, it just ends the game).
Dina does some nice interactions with sacrifice of gigantic monsters and abusing mechanics of incremental lifegain like Extort, thats decent, but it will all just become meaningless as long as there are combos that just win on the spot that overshadow all the "fair" interactions.
Harness Infinity sounds cool, but its so expensive and color intensive for potentially no gain at all, as theres just too easy access to graveyard hate in all constructed formats.
And the fact that they slap on the self-exile on these kinds of effects is also annoying ... stop that WotC, expensive cards like that should never exile themselves to prevent loops, if someone pulls a 7+ mana spell and gets something going, they deserve that.
I like how they're expanding the life drain or whatever that terminology is for that ability into green. Abzan life shenanigans coming right up.
Love the pay three life cost for that ward, and I want to know where in the story spotlight that tidbit is...is it after Rowan has her crackle with power?
Sdedgemoor Witch gives me Lady Gaga impressions and I don't know why.
Pigment Storm is really cool. It makes it less a bad/desperate investment to spend a direct damage spell on a small creature.
Initially I thought Forbidden Crypt but the Praetor's Council makes more sense. Still, that can act as a giant middle finger towards rogue mill.

I wanna try Sedgemoor Witch as an alt wincon in Legacy Buried Phoenix actually. It's cast off a Dark Ritual turn 1. I tried other dudes and it never goes well (Bob, YP, TNN, Forager, Opp Agent, etc...). Maybe this one is good enough.

Pioneer - A bunch of stuff Modern - Humans Legacy - Grixis Phoenix / Death & Taxes
Anybody else remember when a red sorcery called Pigment Storm would have changed something's color?
It's also interesting that they've started to bring Un-set concepts like burn spells with trample into the main game. Then again, how many years has it been now since they reprinted The Cheese Stands Alone in a black-bordered set?

Cheeseburger, french fries, chocolate shake, somebody's mind I's about to take!
We are getting the full set dump tomorrow since they wanted to let people preview cards today and keep the theme of having a school per day shown off.

“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
Excavated Wall looks almost nice. If it milled two per pop, I'd be all over it for some of my decks. I'd like to see more colorless self-mill printed at aggressive cost.
I like Harness Infinity better than Praetor’s Counsel, since I really only use it to power out a game winning Myojin of Life’s Web + Concordant Crossroads. Being instant makes the combo safer without having to spend an additional 8 mana on the same turn.
Harness Infinity and Excavated Wall go into my list of fav art from this set.
Dina looks like she will be a semi-popular commander since she's both cheaper and has more colors than Vito and also enables the Exquisite Blood combo.
Man... if the wall didn't have a mana cost for the activated ability it MIGHT have done a bit to bring Lantern back to Modern... I guess we can't have nice things.

Sedgemoor Witch looks like a beefier, more expensive Young Pyromancer. Looks like fun in the right deck.

the dump is today
each day next week is each commander deck reveal
weird its not separate cards per new card
But since we already got cards for today, doesn´t that mean that the full list will be up another day?
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
look oh the artist of the witherbloom mythic instant is.
Seb ever since you went the style of the cards back in magic days you never disappoint me.
But wait, we've never had a full set dump on a weekend before! I also suspect a Monday Card Image Gallery dump.
there’s a reason you love it it’s another one of Seb McKinnon's works
