Mila: OMG this is it the easy card Draw white players were waiting for! bad news it's rattlesnake style
Lukka: Very considerable for creature based decks
hey since mila is the front side you got lukka in the command zone and this is another boros theme not combat based its superfriends for this one
This is Cool because it works both ways you can remove opponents creatures for less and Buff your creatures for less mana
So Any time snapcaster mage on your things but opponents stuff cost 8 more to target thank heavens they reduced it to once per turn.
White: I will stick with selfless spirit thank you very much
Black: so Time Wipe but throws in walkers and no bounce fantastic but eons more expensive though
Oh fricken boy, Leovold, Emissary of Trest is finally basically Modern-legal with Mila! Leovold made activating Wasteland annoying as heck, and I expect Mila to be good even when she's the first to eat removal (she draws a card when targeted, too).
...OK, Leovold has a Narset, Parter of Veils static attached, but Leovold's second ability was already annoying enough.
Killian is good controlish decks, casting Sublime Epiphany for 2UU looks good on paper
Mila is good for super friends
Lukka maybe is playable in standard for its reanimator ability, but 6 mana :/
Mavinda is kinda nice for Heroic style decks, pay 0 plus W to give hexproof to a creature, if you have a way to make lots of mana it is a 8 mana snapcastermage everyturn. Selfless Glyphweaver looks like a card WB creature focused commander decks probably want imo.
All of these play around in a neat design space. Marvinda is definitely worse than she first appears, because things like draw spells and countermagic cost 8 extra, but in a very long game, she'll be busted.
Ah, so here's Lukka and his bonded fox. The "touch fluffy tail" jokes pretty much write themselves so I won't even bother. Love how Mila being the front side so she can cheat a "can be your Commander" clause on Lukka. And it's a good thing too, because Commander seems to be the best home for both. Mila cantripping on removal is nice but doesn't change the fact that most of the time she's just a 2/3 for 3, while Lukka seems way too expensive for any strategy that isn't winning instantly with that -2.
Killian on the other hand seems really pushed for Constructed. Simple and elegant design that leads itself to many applications, be it aggressively casting removal cheaper, casting Auras at a discount or storming off with Runes and Runeforge Champion. 10/10 design for me.
Mavinda is also a cool design. A bit too forced on the "hey look guys we're making White good in Commander!" side but still, it's mono-White spellslinger. How cool is that.
Enchantress player in me: Killian reduces the cost of auras you cast on your creatures AND on enchantments you cast as removal. Nice
Beer drinker in me: Killian. Nice.
Well-coifed man in me: Killian, my dear friend, who's your barber?
Or you can just ignore the back. There are Commander players who build a deck and ignore one or more colors.
903.4 The Commander variant uses color identity to determine what cards can be in a deck with a certain commander. The color identity of a card is the color or colors of any mana symbols in that card’s mana cost or rules text, plus any colors defined by its characteristic-defining abilities (see rule 604.3) or color indicator (see rule 204).
903.4c The back face of a double-faced card (see rule 711) is included when determining a card’s color identity. This is an exception to rule 711.4a.
903.5c A card can be included in a Commander deck only if every color in its color identity is also found in the color identity of the deck’s commander.
Thanks for playing.
Edit - clarification: If you were suggesting using as a commander, sure you are correct but Xcric was referring to its use in the 99. A monocolored White EDH deck cant use this "amazing white card" so it falls flat.
So Any time snapcaster mage on your things but opponents stuff cost 8 more to target thank heavens they reduced it to once per turn.
Ummmm.... where does it say "once per turn" on the card? Also, where does it say you can target "opponents stuff" in an opponents graveyard?
Am I missing something; are we reading the same rules text on the same card?
"activate only once each turn" before (italic text)
I also don't get the opponent stuff, maybe he wrote thinking about targeting with the spell cast from the graveyard but the way it was writhen indeed looks like casting spells from opponent's graveyard that indeed is not in the rule text of the card.

Yeah, I was thinking of Mila leading the deck. Big misread on my part.
Black: so Time Wipe but throws in walkers and no bounce fantastic but eons more expensive though
I mean you could have just mentioned Duneblast for a closer comparison
And yeah, of course it's more expensive. It's an asymmetrical board wipe. You're not just paying for a wrath; you're paying for your best creature or planeswalker being the only one in play. That means you're also paying for your best planeswalker generating value and/or loyalty for you unimpeded, or your best creature being unblockable for the turn. Again, the same comparison can be made with Duneblast, except this cleans up planeswalkers as well.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.

lots of pictures so a spoiler tag for each (thoughts on each too)

lots of good cards here

Shes good, but most people griping over a lack of white card draw are edh players.
This is forced into red/white/x builds.
It doesnt solve the problem.
Its a fine start, but it doesnt do much to alleviate that issue in that format
Killian can use Lurrus of the Dream-Den as a companion in commander
Mavinda is kinda nice with Feather, the Redeemed.

Once again, key art is superior to card art for Killian. I don't understand why the art on wrapping would be superior to the actual product.

So he is like Dark Lukka?
Evasion, with lifelink means Heliod, Sun-Crowned certainly approves.
AND cost reduction for spells targeting any creature?
Even reduces mutate and bestow, not just traditional auras and spot removal
Could almost be mythic. How is this not a rare?
For an Auras commander, I almost like him better than Uril, the Miststalker
Just add Unquestioned Authority, Holy Mantle, spirit mantle, Timely Ward, minion's return, unholy indenture, and simply dodge cyclonic rifts and merciless evictions
I used to be a demigod, but now I'm an omnimage
I’m so stupid
killian is actually perfect for Aminatou, the Fateshifter flicker
