Is anyone else getting the feeling that with maybe the exception of the Elder Dragons, these mythics don't have much going for them? I mean, this one does feel pretty mythic... Maybe people will rejoice because these are "classic" mythics and not "I NEED 4 FOR MY STANDARD TOURNAMENT DECK!!!"
This is going to be super fun in paper...gotta hand it to the designers, a Quandrix card that makes you do math. Silly but incredibly powerful in some situations, just imagine topdecking this in draft after you're both on topdeck mode staring down at a completely locked board,go ahead, try and gang-block it.
I already hate everything this card does (mainly as counting the size of your library is fairly annoying, even if you can "reverse-count" it by counting all the cards except the ones in your library to check for the difference).
But i still like these cards as well, good old Serra Avatar was the plain big creature for like forever.
So this will be in Standard with Fling and Footfall Crater. The former is obviously more reliable, but the latter is slightly cheaper and cycles if you draw extra. I feel like Kazuul's Fury is not gonna make the deck, but doubling as your red source in a pinch could be nice?

I’m one of the people rejoicing! This is exactly what I think a mythic should be.
The advantage vs. Animate Library is the size of this creature is fixed after casting it (barring counter removal and manipulation), no matter whether you continue to draw cards.

Oh life hack instead of counting the library count everything else (permanents, graveyard, hand, exile) but not the tokens
I realize there's a point where it basically doesn't matter anymore if it's a 45/45 or a 75/75 or... But this would be hilarious in a Battle of Wits deck.
There's an interesting tension with this and Simic's natural tendency to draw cards.
You mean a 20/20 is not big enough for you ;P ?
If this one thing I've learnt from watching Dark Depths combo loose in Legacy, and beating Serra Avatars in Urza's block standard... It's that no a 20/20 doesn't get the job done.
Outside of facing a mill deck or excessive drawing to the point of basically just fishing for a combo, it's effectively Infinity Elemental for power and toughness. Drawing simply a large amount of cards will still make it a one shot. That's ok, though. It costs a stupid amount of mana and is very hard to cheat into play. It's for the same people that adore Colossification. Neither are good cards but they're funny. This is also better than Animate Library. It can be recurred and the spell can be copied. Animate Library is basically once per game.
we got animate library in black border people!
...With no protection from removal. That dies to Fatal Push. And gets blocked by everything. And somehow dies to bounce spells like Vapor Snag, too.
But we can dream that this can block and connect with an opponent, right?

it'll also be cute to just vapor snag someone's 74/74 monstrosity
...not that any edh players run removal
also this + prime speaker zegana = draw your entire library +1, that's a lot of mana... but you're in g/u so its not really
And it doesn't work like you want it to with copying the token, since you'd just make 0/0's.
