Was on my shortlist of possible reprints from the Future Sight. It's a fun reprint. Still wish it was an imp, as both arts suggest to me, for my Rakdos, the Showstopper deck.
How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
In what universe? If you build a deck like that, and ever draw that hand, I will personally come to wherever you live, perform complicated acts of awestruck ********, then disembowel myself to escape the world that allowed something like this to occur and validate you.
Birgi, God of Storytelling is gonna go from $2 to like $100 in very little time since storm exist in historic now most particularly grapeshot
(But really a ban is gonna happened)
oh...oh no... oh crap. That's um... hmmm. Yeah something here will need to get banned.
So basically 3 land, Birgi, Ignus and Grapeshot is basically gg most of the time on T3? That's faster than most of the current combos, I feel like Stormcaller combo can go as early as 3 so it's not like the format hasn't dealt with this before but this is still pretty gross.
Edit: For some reason I thought Birgi was 1R so that won't work but adding a T1 dork still fits in your opening 7 so it's a little Magical Christmas Land but not impossible.

"On rare occasions, elementals summoned by Prismari students are considered promising and are allowed to stay and enroll."
Straight out of Future Sight and into the Standard, Pioneer, and Historic ritual families, our futureshifted card is Grinning Ignus.

Lmao you really think that a regular rare with multiple printings in a Standard set will hit $100?
pits a over exaggeration but you know what I mean Brigid could get the biggest spike in a while
