Weirdly I feel like there aren't enough fast mana sources in Historic to make this matter but I wonder if some weird escape, Kirkar, Birgi mash-up may get it done.

Funny, in best of one I've been tinkering with a Song of Creation deck involving Birgi, God of Storytelling, burn, and one drops. It's usually capable of a kill turn 5 or 6. Adding Grapeshot would be a huge boost.

Yes, Song of Creation might be a really good engine for Grapeshot. I was wondering about Paradox Engine too but I'm not sure Grapeshot is better than Aether Reservoir already is.
I like the art. However, this annoys me slightly since I just bought a foil playset from Time Spiral Remastered last week.
Why are cards getting alternate arts again so soon when they just received some (like cultivate which was printed with alternate arts in both M21 and Secret Lair: Black is Magic)? Why saturate the card pool with so many versions of the same cards which will barely even be recognizable from across the table? Is Wizards trying to make Historic or Pioneer "the New Modern" (since Modern became too broken by power-creep and resulted in too many bannings)?
Actually, now I'm wondering about Birgi, God of Storytelling, Runaway Steamkin, the various loot cards (especially those that create treasure), Wily Goblin, and Underworld Breach as a shell for Historic Grapeshot.

I should tell you this it's not historic legal but if Grinning Ignus was legal this deck would never surface ever (wizard would easily ban card(s).)
oh and one more card lotus cobra is also historic legal

Grinning Ignus is cute indeed. Closest we get is the gruul dude who gives you back his mana when he ETBs, but he's probably a good fit for this deck.
So what does one do when Storm finally hits Historic? Well, do as we always do.

I used to be a demigod, but now I'm an omnimage

I love the art, it reminds me of a boss from Mars Matrix on the Dreamcast, shooting all the bullets in those radial patterns.
