Noticing all cards from this series have all had their rarity upshifted... does this mean there's a new secret-hush-hush-deep-state rarity above mythic? Like Godly?
God I must be the only one who thinks all this mystic archive art is just awful. It's like bad 80s anime with the loudest, most glaring possible card frame. Each to their own I guess, at least they'll sell well on ebay to people who do like it.

The "art" of the actual card is decent and artistic, the "frame" is the really bad part that makes the card not look particularly like a magic card anymore.
Its basically the same crap they did with Amonkhet Masterpieces, decent art and horrible frame.
Here they at least fixed the unreadable text, but they still stylized the mana symbols which i am not a fan of, as its totally unnecessary.

The artworks alone would simply be what we get in Secret Lair as well, some different art than the regular of a set.
But god knows why they mess with the frame all the time, instead of keeping cards at least by the frame in line to get a coherent card style (as mixing all kinds of frames in one deck is just awful to look at any cards).
I agree the frame is kind of loud and off-putting, but I absolutely love the tarot-esque art style for these mystical archive cards. It reminds me of what magic art was like back in it's infancy in the early 90s.

I may be in the minority, but I really like having a mix of different frames and art styles in my decks
I don't really like that in other games though, it might be that I'm so used to Magic that my brain can still process normally even when everything looks different aesthetically.

Uncommon = Common/Uncommon in Standard.
Rare = Common/Uncommon outside of standard
Mythic = Rare/Mythic (Note that time warp is still mythic, so no super rarity).
I love the art on these. Way better than standard set art. But I agree these would look better in the normal frame, or even the original frame, which always looked better (thanks, TSR for reminding us).
Bundled together with one of the original Commands is... a pump spell from the last Theros set?
