It's an interesting challenge to choose cards for this: The card needs to be from the new frame, but not Time Spiral block. It needs to aesthetically and mechanically feel old-school. It needs to be of the base frame (no enchantment creatures, colored artifacts, planeswalkers, etc.). It can't be too excessively wordy (because the old frame has noticeably less room for text). And finally they need to not all be the same thing (Anger of the Gods is a great choice, but Star of Extinction could've worked too).
With this one, the art looks like a video-game cutscene, which feels aesthetically wrong. But it's mechanically perfect. Even the named mechanic could easily have been in a later old-frame set.
But challenge or not, there were lots of great choices they could have made without head-scratchers like this that miss aesthetically, or Etali that miss by design philosophy. Chaos Warp, for example would be perfect. Maybe Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs over Etali.
But I'm not complaining. It all looks better in the old frame. The old frame is much more aesthetically pleasing. But the new frame is all around more efficient.
I think everything looks better in an old frame, including this one.
I know what people are saying about the art - we never would have seen fire (Chandra's hair) that looks like that in the old art. That's a clear result of computers - even if it's hand drawn on a computer, it's not utilizing physical ink, paint, or water colors. But I agree that the old frame just makes everything look better. My eyes are drawn to the red brimstone border, and not to the hyper smooth rendering of the image.

Yeah I agree. I think the colors of the old borders are way more vibrant. And don't even get me started on the foils, so nice!
