Now that they've dropped the official announcement, these seem very fake. A UW legend when there's no UW college? Converted mana cost not being replaced by "mana value"?
Yup. Im sure its fake. People didn't pay enough attention to the white blue legend after learning the set was supposedly enemy colors at the time.
I will call them fake. This guy tried to play safe: putting Jin-Gi and Kasmina, the top 2 speculations; spoilering only blue card in a set themed around a school, because he didn't know the flavor to give to other colors; a generic draw spell about scrolls... but when he went a little bit off generic, with a bicolor legend, he made a mistake.

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
I think this is fake as well, and now with the booster art without kasmina it’s probably confirmed as fake but using the allied colored legend as a confirm is wrong. Wizards can do and prob would off color legends in a mostly enemy colored pair set.
With the official info out, the Excavationist flavour is rather Lorehold-aligned but the card is UW instead of RW. That and the lack of "mana value" instead of "converted mana cost" in the cards scream fake to me.

I don't even know if the flavor of this UW card is right. Lorehold are archeologist and summon spirits. They appear to not be assembling or reactivating machines/constructs. Their command put a spirit token, not a golem one.

If this is real, which I personally doubt it is. I'm not too horrifically worried about Jin in edh. Pretty sure he will get banned like Lutri on the day he's spoiled.
They only banned Lutri upon spoiling because its drawback was non-existent due to the format rules, which would have meant anyone running UR as part of a deck's colour identity would automatically include Lutri as a Companion. This version of Jin is just a powerful card, and they always give powerful cards a chance before banning them. Even Griselbrand and Emrakul got their time to shine before the RC banned them.

first it’s not real with the sneak preview of the set
secondly lutri was banned because its next to impossible to not include into any edh deck invoking izzet colors
the companion condition is met automatically in edh and its ability is essentially dualcaster mage but for your spells always a benefit when used

Did you just overlook the part where he said he doubts that it’s real or
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.

Like I said, someone should close this thread because at this point we have evidence to support these rumors are probably false.
Jin-Gitaxis is not too strong here, its barely good for its counter ability.
You have to play 2 removal spells (or simply use a creature, planeswalker or any other card type to kill it, if you have to).
3 removal spells.
He says "you may cast each turn" and he counters the first instantly, so the second may be countered at free too lol
I think that this is absolutely fake.
whoa that made the fake Jin even worse nightmare for players
anyway it’s 100% fake at this point this person had a paper bag over head mistake and that as a strixhaven is getting a mega Oracle wave with “mana value” and “shuffle” instead of “converted mana cost” and “shuffle your library”
plus a azorius legendary is in the leak when it’s the 3rd enemy color focused set highly doubt we’re seeing ally color legends in this
(Apocalypse and Eventide are the other 2 enemy color sets)
If this Jin-Gitaxias is real, and part of me is afraid that it might be, it will need to be accompanied with a Tibalt's Trickery ban in Standard. Even though Trickery's hit rate is less than 50%, a turn 2 Jin-Gitaxias is still soul crushing.
