Firja's Judgement 1WWB
Enchantment-Saga
I: Create a 4/4 Angel token with flying and vigilance
II: Until end of turn, all Angels you control gain "Tab: Destroy target creature with less Power than this creature."
III: All Angels you control gain double strike until end of turn.
Seems fun. There are a lot Serra Angel tokens for 4 mana in this set :x.
Wow, BW Angel tribal got wicked with this.
Stage 2 going to clear a lot of creatures. Attack, then tap before blockers.
Stage 3 can win games since chump blockers gone.
These sagas seem costed where stage 1 is ok, for the cmc, and then after just gravy. A 4/4 flyer W vigilance for 4 is ok, but then abilities later.
Very solid Angel tribal support; should help win plenty of games of Limited. Not sure if this saga or Aurelia is better at 4 mana but I suppose that depends on whether your deck is RW or BW.
How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
The token is basically the biggest value of the saga.
The other parts require you to snowball , so if you already have a bigger creature than the opponent, you can now destroy it, and if they have no creature to block with, you can double strike basically for the win right there (as 4/4 sized creatures with double strike tend to win basically on the spot).
This being 4 mana further stretches the 3 mana angels into basically must plays to curve out properly.
And yea, the almost mono white deck with tiny bit of black mixed in already looks disgusting (not format breaking, but a massive snowball, that either wins big or does basically nothing if it gets swooped under the floor in between its curve).
If you run other colors the late game might be grindy enough as well , but a lot the angels do runs right into sweepers by turn 4 that just completely nullifies what they did before that and the UR saga cleanly deals 4 damage to all the angels which is a one sided wrath against them.
(But if you dont have a sweeper at the moment, the advantage from just 2 4/4 sized flyers is basically enough to win a game)
This is such a bomb in limited that I'm kind of surprised it isn't Mythic for that alone. Given angels are a thing in this set and this isn't just a standalone you can barely see how you even beat this card in limited.
I guess for Standard it really depends how many other playable, especially cheaper angels there are. If there's nothing really notable it's not going to be enough alone, as they can just kill the token and the rest of the card does nothing, but if you can reasonably have a deck with 12+ angels in it with CMC 3 or lower then this is a pretty powerful top end for a deck.
Right now Standard has only 6 angels but there may be enough in this set to make Orzhov Angels a thing. Pioneer has a lot of angels accessible to it, mostly 4- and 5-drops (except for Resplendent Angel at 3); some of them are game-winning on their own if unanswered for a turn or two.
This seems almost good enough to play even with no other angels, or your only other angels are changelings. Sure if they kill the 4/4 the other chapters do nothing, but that angel is a must-kill.
