White can snow tutor now. Not sure if that means anything.
That's true. Like Djeru, With Eyes Open, I think this is a good direction for white. While black often gets tutors with downsides, a la Grim Tutor, I would love for white to continue to get targeted tutors, but more like this with options. Idyllic Tutor is great, but I like that you can also tutor lands (albeit snow), and legendary cards or sagas. I wouldn't mind seeing white get more land tutoring effects, costing 1 more than green counterparts or being more specific. Basic plains, legendary lands, or what-have-you.
Oh are we doing "gideon found things that he disliked in theros amusing in other planes" again?
Card is good, a worse Idyllic Tutor for enchatments but you can pick lands (snow and legendaries) and some historic cards? And you still can gain up to 3 life? Yeah, card is good.

I got the impression that Niko is sick of athletic glory but can't get enough of heroic glory.
I'm having a tough time finding an infinite combo this card can get any piece of - anyone here know any?
Oh man this is really close to historic spell but for snow well somewhat good news since into the north spiked hard big time this is are budget alternative for the moment

You can also pick snow cards that aren't permanents. Not sure how relevant it will be of course, but a card like Blood on the Snow being a snow wrath could definitely be important.
Time to ignore that life gain trigger - the tutor portion already looks good enough.
Agreed, but the life gain could actually be very relevant if this is played in standard or even pioneer/historic against aggro decks. Like the little 3 life boon from Uro that makes it so oppressive against aggro. I am not saying this is Uro level, obviously, but "put a relevant card into your hand and gain 3 life" is very real. Imagine tutoring for a snow board wipe with this, you'll really appreciate the 3 life.
This had to be rare? Looks like a perfectly fine uncommon to me.
This is a strictly* better Call the Gatewatch. If gets you any legendary permanent, and probably a wide variety of other card types thanks to the snow portion of the card. I think rare is appropriate, unless we're also talking about downshifting Idyllic Tutor and every planeswalker tutor - and sure, we could have that conversation.
*there may be a card that can counter snow spells or punishes opponents for casting snow spells, but you know what I mean.
Just a quick note: The card says "search your library for a snow permanent card", so no, it can't search for another copy of itself, which would be actually somewhat relevant as it would be a way to mana sink it into lifegain.
Still a really solid card tho. Lots of relevant options here, hell even if it said just "legendary card" it would be fine even if unexciting.

I think tutoring, just like card draw, is a thing that benefits massively from a tacked on life gain. People said the same thing about Sphinx's Revelation's lifegain, turns out setting up future plays works extremely well with the ability to survive long enough to make said plays.
Catch me on this, legendary means planeswalker as well now correct? So this can tutor for them? Alongside legendary enchants, creatures, artifacts, and lands?

Yup!
And both Legendary.
Because they're always pushing the agenda, my friend.
