Boast seems to be more flexible then I first thought.
Dragonkin Berserker 1R
Creature - Human Berserker
First strike
Boast abilities you activate cost 1 less to activate for each Dragon you control.
Boast - 4R: Create a 5/5 red Dragon creature token with flying. (Activate this ability only if this creature attacked this turn and only once each turn.)
2/2
Playing since 1994: Currently MAGS (HomeBrew),Standard & Pauper (Pioneer and Modern are degenerate trash formats)
STOP using "dude/bro" as a pejorative or insult. Grow up.
Margaret Thatcher: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Martin Luther King Jr.: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
So, this Kaldheim tempo godhand is supposed to go:
T1: Land, ???
T2: Land, Dragonkin Berserker
T3: Land, The Bloodsky Massacre
T4: ???
T5: ???, The Bloodsky Massacre's III into Dragonkin Berserker's boast
Seems easy to disrupt (expected) and slow, but I do suppose it's a lot of value and inevitability for a deck that can potentially top out at three lands.
Why create a new mechanic which can be activated only if the creature attacked this turn when Raid exists? Of course, Boast requires that the creature using it is the one which attacked and with Raid any creature can have attacked. *shrug* If you can get one dragon off this in Limited then I guess you win--maybe--but I can't see it making waves in any other format.
So dragons is splashed as a R tribe in kaldheim just like the clerics with WB
Also kind of cool they are throwing in “how to train your dragon” reference in kaldheim (speaking of which if we end up with a legendary dragon that’s black scaled I’m calling it toothless for sure)
This will be the rare I get 3 normal and 2 foil in a set booster box.
This card could be an uncommon instead of wasting a rare slot. It's a constructed piece of garbage.
You know that changeling is in the set, right?
This is a pretty strong 2 drop for limited. Limited is what determines rarity, not constructed.
Also, this could be good in constructed.

Is it? It seems average to even possibly slightly good. A 2/2 for 2 with first strike is not bad and can defend well enough and if even a dragon or two is playable, especially with Changelings, the Boast ability will be easy to trigger.
It's not the best thing in the world, but it doesn't look bad.

Honestly, even without any playable dragons/changelings, getting a 5/5 dragon for 5 is a solid rate as a bonus on a playable grizzly bear. The fact that you can also use the mana to have pump spells such as Embercleave available they do block it gives it some pretty strong potential as a mind game. Do you actually have a pump, or are you just bluffing one to get a 5/5 dragon out? And once you do start getting dragons out, it becomes easier to activate for next time, potientially getting to the point where you might be able to easily activate two different beserkers in a turn. I'm not saying it's a guarenteed constructed staple, but there's definitely room for it to be playable, and it's certainly nowhere near an uncommon.
Turn 1: Drop a mana dork and pray the dork survives
Turn 2: Dies to removal or is countered
Turn 3: If it survives it may have to chump block something big again dies to removal.
Turn 4: Go ahead and attack into an opponents creature probably bigger than a measly 2/2 if they are on creatures, tap out for 5 mana for a 5/5 flyer as you lose your 2/2 and pray a Ratchet Bomb or Blast Zone isn't on the battlefield.
I'm sorry this card is slow and bad in Constructed. It is WAY to conditional. You can try to convince me otherwise but unless there is something that boosts this card up it is a dragon only tiny niche constructed card. I don't draft so this will be the garbage constructed card I pull in droves if I buy boosters.

You don't play this in a deck with dorks, you play it in a deck with gingerbrute, Bobo and 18 other tiny threats, in Standard Burn the upside of having a Nana sink is huge and there really isn't anything right now other than Castle Embereth, in Historic there's Hazoret the Fervent but I'd still play 2x this as an additional mana sink. Yes, burn can win on 2 lands but sometimes you flood.
"Should have been white" is my favorite meme from this site but "Should have been a common/uncommon" is a close second.

so..... you're playing a constructed deck against someone that's able to kill everything on earth without any tempo loss OR have a large enough threat by turn 3 you'd chumpblock with your 2/2 first striker?
damn... you must be playing a really broken format.
If this can attack without dying and makes 2+ dragons, its flat out game over in Limited formats.
It can basically make a "free" 5/5 token anyway, which is already quite nasty, and the opponent can never just all in attack to prevent this from counter attacking.
Once again a really "snowbally" creature, that basically demands Removal before it attacks.
And removal we seen so far is really really bad (or at least miles away from the powercreep on creatures).
There was a time in Magic when a one pip red bear with first strike alone was enough to justify a Rare printing...
Exactly. The spoiled kids of today have never had the pleasure (or more accurately, experience) of opening chaoslace as their rare, or having to play with a gray ogre or hurloon minotaur in their decks in the absence of more summons! Honestly, if I was thirteen again and opened this back then I'd be thrilled!
The limitation on boast is really tough. I get that if you get a few dragons in play this guy goes pretty crazy without it but I bodes poorly for the rest of the boast cards.
This will be the rare I get 3 normal and 2 foil in a set booster box.

I strongly disagree with your card evaluation if you think this should be uncommon. I get that this may not singlehandedly break standard, but it is a ton of value on a creature even making a 5/5 from it once is a ton of value. I can't see how this would ever be an uncommon in a set built to be drafted.

also a spoiler
Looks good, it is a Berserker, it has a good body with relevant abilities and shows more of the new ability. Good early game, good late game .
Also Boast works kinda well with Foretell in a sense that you can save mana for boast + foretell or just play things seccond main.

Exactly this. Also, I think in some ways this compares to Dragonmaster Outcast and that's perfectly fine at rare so this should be too.
Edit: Outcast is mythic so I have absolutely no issues with this at Rare.

It sounds like you were expecting something with more of a mythic power level, and that's just unrealistic. The card is fine.
