Im laughing at how cards like Sentinel sort of inspired Boast if this is to be believed.
I think you misunderstand what boast is. Boast is not the effect, but only the restriction given in reminder text.

Heck, every day I wake up, I don't go out and kill people - and I'm rewarded by not having legions of enemies! Amazing how that works.
Although ninjas are experts of camouflage and concealment, they are actually horrible liars. This means that no matter where you are, you can shout out, “Are there any ninjas here?” and if there’s a ninja within earshot, he’ll be compelled to respond.
If real.... not a fan
Will overshadow the set.
I was always hoping the Praetors would some how find a way back to Phyrexia itself. Maybe rebuild and find old devices from Yawgmoth times.
It all seems too convenient and yet the cards look pretty legit. Just another weird and IMO dissapointing turn with the MTG story.

Damn, I really just wanted a beautiful viking world. What theros was for greek mythology I wanted now for norse mythology. Period. Add some top down mechanics and a nice showcase frame and I'm happy.
What I didn't want was onslaught 4.0 full blown tribal set and now also not phayrexian invasion 3.0 man.
I hope I can just pick up two or three fitting cards for my cube in the showcase frame and then I'll be waiting for time spiral remastered and modern horizons 2.

They really lost their spirit to make a set distinct and "clean" , feels like they throw in just all kinds of mechanics and themes, to please basically anyone and nobody.
Card if real is certainly powerful, just as a Doubling Season is guaranteed to carry value.
----
Interesting what they do with this, but i almost fear they throw this story arc away just like they did with the Eldrazi and to some degree with Bolas.
I don't think that this will be a phyrexian invasion. We had a spell with the Wanderer in Ikora. I think this is just the signal that those creatures can somehow travel between planes, now. Or maybe just some kind of summoning/illusion shenanigan. Just hope that this thing doesn't spill any oil.

One card soo far, if real and there are more in the set then 20 or less cards from 290+ cards... lol Kaldheim has enough space
I totally believe Vorinclex is real. Why? Because of the same reason that Amonkhet had the Nicol Bolas stuff going on.
When they did Theros, they knew that there was a lot of general knowledge about Greek mythology. Enough to do everything top-down. Films like Troy, 300, Clash of the Titans, Percy Jackson and even the Disney Hercules movie did a lot to give the average person knowledge of greek mythology.
But when they did Amonkhet, they realized that there is very little general knowledge about Egyptian mythology (pretty much nothing beyond mummies and pyramids). So they had to add more to it.
Same thing here. Norse mythology is beloved by a small subset of people. Most people don't know anything more than Thor, Odin, Loki and Mjolnir. A lot of people know of the World Tree, but even then it is not a lot. I am sure that they felt they needed another hook to get players into it. Phyrexians make sense.
As for legitimacy, no telltale fake signs, so so far so good.
Introducing Phyrexian as a creature type, as well as the first time a non-permanent having the Snow supertype, sure raises at least some red flags, that can't be just me.
Maybe that artwork is just what a Baloth looks like on Kaldheim?
X D
And I'm still also suspicious regarding the non italic font for the mechanic name, which others already pointed out.
The art is 100% Vorinclex (or at least a Phyrexian of the same pattern). He has:
1. Moose antler faceplates
2. Splits in his lower limbs
3. Tiny extra T-rex arms
That's one of the biggest things pointing to this being real: if it's fake, where did they find this art?
looking at the holo stamp I think I saw the forest symbol at 0:45 and that’s a really minor detail hard to spot on holo the walker symbols and the right angle you can see the mana symbols instead of the walker symbol
I know ya’ll are gonna think I’m nuts...but I’ve been playing a Green-Devotion Super Friends deck for years now. This is more than I would have even asked for if I could design the card myself :). It’s always fun when spoiler season comes around and makes your Jank Deck :). This is why spoiler season is such a magical time!
From what we know it seems even if he is real, that he is likely the only preator here. From the collecting Kaldheim article we know, that every legendary creature in the set will get the viking frame. In the article they state that there will be 8 mythics in that frame, with a mono cycle of gods, that would only leave 3 cards open.
So more likely a Tibalt somehow cuts them a way and a few or even just Vorinclex get through, rather than a full invasion, which could ruin a world that we didn't really know until know.
They did say there would be a cycle of mythics that aren’t the planeswalkers that would get the borderless treatment. 🤷♂️

that text looks alarmly similar to vorinclex's text
Put twice/half as many of each of those counters on that permanent or player instead
The token version sounds white so I think elesh norn might be there too

But they have a new mechanic unique to Kaldheim:
"In addition to the borderless Pathways and planeswalkers, we wanted to show off a cycle of five cards in the set that feature a new mechanic unique to Kaldheim. All these cards—Pathways, planeswalkers, and a cycle of five mythic rares featuring a new mechanic—receive a special art and borderless frame treatment."

Thanks to DarkNightCavalier from Heroes of the Plane Studios for this sick Signature.
Honestly, I actually find the colour/border cut on Vorinclex to be even more suspicious - the left border is suspiciously narrower than the right, kinda like the card was miscut (or misprinted by a not-skilled-enough faker). I don't think the card's tilt completely accounts for this.
Gah, something booted me and I lost all the stuff I typed out. Shorter version with less nuance.
The "Collecting Kaldheim" article basically lays out that there are definitely 17 mythics, of which 5 are presumably the god cycle, 4 are the Planeswalkers, and 5 are a cycle demonstrating an as of yet unseen mechanic. There may be more, but it seems unlikely, unless the mythic count for sets is just going to be permanently raised as of Zendikar Rising. The gods and 3 others (stated as "all legends") are getting the special "Viking" frame treatment.
While the number of mythics is probably not *permanently* raised, sets with DFC's have always had more mythics than sets without. I'd expect this set to have a similar level of mythics to Zendikar Rising, so we'd be looking at somewhere around 20 mythics, which would leave room for stuff like a 1 off phyrexian.
That said, I largely agree that there's a lot to be suspicious about. Nothing feels strong enough to be definitively fake to me, but I'm also extremely wary of calling it certain either. We'll probably see in 2 weeks, Boast or snow sorceries would (largely) confirm this leak, I think.
It’s that the simic tribe the shapeshifters (changelings) actually got the phyrexian sickness (phyresis or Phthisis whichever one it is) and are vorinclex's minions in disguise thus the changeling ability slowly but surely corrupting the plane

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

I'm still not sure if this card is fake or not, but I'll say that miscut doesn't say anything about the legitimacy of the cards, in the last year I've gotten a Secret Lair that was all miscut, numerous promo cards from Standard sets that are miscut, Ikoria cards that were both miscut and faded. Card quality is awful at this point.
Sorry I beat you too it haha. But jeez what a plot twist if this is real.
It would be sick to see compleat Vikings. I think there should be MDFC's in a future Phyrexian set that allow you to pick if you want the original creature or the compleat version.

I'm betting it's real now. Phyrexia was always the real big bad of Magic going back to antiquities and they need a new baddie since Bolas is "gone" and Im pretty sure the eldrazi are all dead. They never resolved the scars block story line either so we know they are out there, and the praetors are character driven enough that they work for EDH, work for constructed, work for other product lines.
I hope they don't overdo it though. I like the idea of 1-2 of them floating around per set, much like Eye of Ugin was spoiled before the Eldrazi came out.

I just mean to say things aren’t as simple as they may seem on the surface. I’m not really convinced that at least the Vorinclex is real. It seems weird that they’d show no hints up to now that Phyrexia was coming and that they’d have them go from “we suspect that there may be other planes” to “we have mastered planeswalking to a degree that our most important leaders are using it” off screen.
I really like the mechanical horrors of Phyrexia, but the mix with the Vikings is a bad idea for me. I would like Kaldheim to refer only to the Norse beliefs.
Well for this cycle/super cycle I think I can guess each one
