The gods have to be more than 5 juding from this video. I like the aesthetics of the world. Seems darker for a change.
Possibly, but that likely means we're getting some amount of gods at rare which seems...off. Halvar is no doubt part of a cycle. We've got 4 Planeswalkers. And today's article referenced a 5 card mythic cycle for a new mechanic. Doesn't leave much room for extra gods. (That said, perhaps the rare gods are the overthrown, and thus, presumably, weaker for now, elf gods.)
"Connected to the World Tree." Sounds VERY Pagan in reference if you ask me.
This is looking pretty stellar so far...And at this point I don't really care if snow is a concept or not. (Just give me some good female artwork and boof!)

Finaly Small vilains causing havoc between planes and trying to achieve great power. Well i guess i will be reading kaldheim story week after week or will buy the book when it comes out.
(between ixalan and dominaria i waited it to end or almost end soo i could start and finish(or read most of it) in one day and be done with it)(if they do release it in the mothership)
Playing since 1994: Currently MAGS (HomeBrew),Standard & Pauper (Pioneer and Modern are degenerate trash formats)

I watched the trailer for multiple times now. I don't know I count maybe 4 gods (not sure if there are all gods could be just legendaries still).
What I see:
0:04 - 0:08 Maybe the Thor equivalent
0:10 - 0:13 This is the new Elf Planeswalker Tyvar
0:16 - 0:19 Shows 2 figures let assume both are Gods (I think the right one is one but the left figure just looks like a normal shapeshifter)
0:21 - 0:24 This is Alrund
0:24 - 0:36 is sword of the realms (Halvars weapon)
0:37 - 0:38 This Valkyrie doesn't look like Reidane and she using a spear. I would call legendary creature or just a normal creature (representative for Valkyries).
0:38 - 0:40 a battlefield with multiple creatures... I don't thing anyone is a god here.
0:41 - 0:44 Well the Giant... I believe this thing is the Legendary Demon Berserker from MaRo's teaser and will be important but no God more like Sarum, Realm Eater
0:45 till end is for the scene between sword of the realms, the world tree, the legendary snake and well the charming gentleman devil
Lets assume the Demon and the shapeshifter are gods and the Valkyrie is Reidane (the only characters in the video that get additional solo-frame time). Than yeah ok we have 7 Gods with Alrund, Reidane, Halvar, Shapeshifter, Rune/skull Guy, Thor and Demon. At the moment I think our Gods are this 5 Alrund, Reidane, Halvar, Thor and Rune/skull Guy. But maybe you are right. The low representation of womens in this pantheon is suspicious.
Damn, from flamboyant aristocrat to heavy metal singer. Did Tibbs's balls dropped between Kaldheim and War of the Spark?
Tibalt has never been a flamboyant aristocrat, thats just how Innistrad people dress. He was quite effect as a threat in the Chandra comics since he is a reverse empath and was able to physically and emotionally torturing Chandra. Will see how effect he is on characters who aren't as emotionally driven and feeling as Chandra.

But that's definitely how he's portrayed on MtG Arena, as I have linked. Also, you think people can't be fabulously flamboyant and bloody threatening at the same time? Never seen Him from Powerpuff Girls?

I imagine the objection is less to the flamboyance (which everyone can respect and appreciate) and more to the spicy little devil man being called an aristocrat. The clothing being fancy by our standards isn't an indication of his respectability or class, because unless you're out in the Kessig boonies, or Jace trying to blend in with nothing more than a trench coat, that style is simply de rigueur. He has aspirations, sure, but he's as common as you or me when you get right down to it. And that's what the Tibalt v. Sorin Duel Deck was all about. (Joking, joking.)

EDIT: Messed up the quote function.
Eh kinda both but more along the lines of Tibalt being a seen as a joke-y villain character isn't how he is in the lore.

Well, sure, no one in universe is going to find him appealing, but there's a lot of difference in how people who have to deal with the consequences of his actions will feel versus those who just have to listen to him talk and, to paraphrase someone else, 'Watch him get his nose broken twice (somehow) in the span of ten minutes because he won't stop monologuing.'
He's not comically inept, he's comically full of himself.
Oof. Really? Can’t handle a little joke? Like you felt the need to make a zero value post just telling me to shut up because I made a joke about this not being the first time this plot has popped up in Magic? Really?

I was talking more personality-wise, not literally an aristocrat. You know the type: Well-spoken, soft words, but arrogant as hell, self-centered and completely unfazed by the needs of those around him. I guess I could elaborate but "flamboyant aristocrat" just sounds so right to describe Arena's portrayal of Tibalt.
It turns out alrund is in the video. So he is a cross between odin and heimdall. Still there are 3 more characters in that could fit the god type. Despite all that, i still think that having gods in monocolored idenity is a missed opportunity coz most gods from norse mythology are at least 2 or more colors. Ikoria still being around probably played a role in them not being 3 colored. I get that based on restriction from mythics we couldn't have 15 but damn we could have 10 in mythic and still have them 2 colored. At the end of the day, given the gods are indirectly immortal, they could be worked to be at a rare slot and have them as said.when i look at the white one and abilitywise it looks more rare than mythic. If they are all monocolored what sets them apart from the other 2 cycles othen than the mechanics?
For who’s talking...wow he sounds like a demon rather than a devil
> I am, Sir. :X
