Yes nearly everyone in their pantheon dies, but always at hands of another god or being like Fenrir, Jormungandr, etc. It'll be interesting to see them dying to 4 squirrel tokens. Maybe all its Ratatoskr, his two twin brothers (huh?), and Loki disguised as Ratatoskr. Maybe a human wearing armor made of mistletoe?
Sure, but the point is they’re all mortal. It doesn’t take another God to kill them, without the apples they’d even just die of old age (I believe, I can’t recall the specifics of the apples off the top of my head). Granted, Gods in general usually aren’t immortal in mythology, and it is a rather narrow thing to try to keep in place.
Soo one will be a staff and the other a Shield(or sword?)(if equipment, maybe they can also be enchantments or spells)?
Assuming they are all monocolored: R - Thor / Mjolnir U - Odin (Alrund) / Gungnir G - Heimdall (Reidane? she seems to have the horn...) / Gjallarhorn B - Loki / Laevateinn
But the WW in Halvar's mana cost does makes me wonder if we'll be getting only monos... well, that and the fact that Reidane being the G one seems very odd, she seems like a WR design.
this is gonna sound nuts but Reidane might be the black one because reminder that Loki is a shapeshifter so he could be blue or green
Wow. I would have loved Sword of the Realms by itself instead of as a MDFC, but combined with the God side, it's interesting. Can't use it in Tiny Leaders Cube, but can use it in Commander, so it's probably making its way into my Rafiq equipment deck.
this guy as a commander plus colossus hammer is kind of funny.
Kinda, you have to already have it equipped for his ability to work. He can't move unequipped equipment. You'd have to use something like Sigarda's Aid or Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist.
Finally a god that is strong without being a noobproof removal-dodger.
The normal art is very bland
The showcase art is very cool

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Will there be another white legendary cards like this or another card.
Or this is just one per color?
Chances are only one per color - at least for Gods. There has been talk about how hard it is to fit a larger pantheon into the actual cards (which is why THB didn't feature the full fifteen). That said, there will certainly be more MDFCs and both due to Year of Commander and the setting's theme of heroism there will likely be quite a few more legendaries. Never say never, I guess, but I'd expect other legendaries to not be MDFCs to keep the Gods "special".

Heck, every day I wake up, I don't go out and kill people - and I'm rewarded by not having legions of enemies! Amazing how that works.
Although ninjas are experts of camouflage and concealment, they are actually horrible liars. This means that no matter where you are, you can shout out, “Are there any ninjas here?” and if there’s a ninja within earshot, he’ll be compelled to respond.
Kinda funny that he can go into battle using himself as a sword. Unless I miss something in the legend rule, of course.
This should work. Of course, you need to get at least two of them, cast one as the God and the other as the Equipment. On the battlefield, neither card knows about its back side.
With some shenanigans, you can transform an opponent's god into his sword via Moonmist (if you make the god a human too), then one of the two swords self-destructs.

Odin/Alrund kinda has to be U (god of wisdom). But I could see Reidane being black and "Loki" green. Really Loki is BUGR. U and R are taken by Thor and Odin, and Reidane has to exist, and can't be white. I think you're right by process of elimination.

I am not sure if we saw the same miniature. She was colorwise completely covered in blue clothing with some white and brown decorations and had blue wings. She was holding a shield and a sword (The sword handle and the shield are blue, too). I am not sure what exactly was Boros design? When I am looking at Boros Angels I see fire, Red, dual wielding swords/weapons or a two handed weapon, sometimes wearing some kind of Armor, Soldier like. Nothing of this fits Reidane (taking into account that the miniature is accurate but we don't have other information about her). She would fit black at the moment because it seems like the Valkyries are in Orzhov. Some of the Valkyrie seems to have more blueish wings (mainly the black ones). On the other hand the miniature was called Goddess of Justice which would fit White, Boros or Azorius. Maybe there are 10 Gods? 5 mono color ones with the artifact on the backside and 5 multi colored with Alrund, Reidane, snake, squirrel and the wolf or Reidane is just black but the color theme doesn't seem to reflect that.
as a stand alone spoiler i have to say such a card would feel more red than white, or maybe boros colored
it seems to lack color idendity, especially the name given
but well, guess i just wait for the other gods to be spoilered
I wonder if all the gods in this set will get bonus when equipped and the back side with have the "when this creatures dies return it to your hand" so that to have the gods at fully power you need both halves out.

I agree on boros but disagree on more red than white.
White is equally strong color for equipment cards. Maybe it has even more support than red (tutoring and so on). It has gotten this kind of equipment switcheroo effect lastly and had some trigger ability that does something similar in the past. If the effect would let you switch an Equipment attached to a creature you don't control to target creature, too than it would be a different story. Double Strike is primary in White as it is in Red.
The equipment part feels a lot more white than red. Vigilance is primary in white while i think it isn't part of Red. The return effect feels more white than red, too. The only thing we could discussed is the fact that the sword is providing just +2/+0 and not +2/+2. The other white artifacts were improving power and toughness equally. I think they took the logic way... Why would a big sword (which maybe is hard to handle) give some protection.
The name fits white pretty good. It is the color of army and one of the creature heavy colors. I think we are missing the motive of Halvar and what a battle means for him. It could be something related to honor or order which would fit white. He could represent the values in battle needed to ascend to Starnheim for example.
Seems a bit weak for a Mythic in Constructed formats. Cool card I like it but just meh. Could be downshifted to rare and no one would bat an eye.

Martin Luther King Jr.: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
Agree it's more white for the equip as the main focus of abilities and triggers. I like the overall card but it should have atleast a way to protect himself

I've seen a few different media have a death god as a law/justice kinda god as they are the ones who pick the resting place of a soul. Reidane could play into this role as it seems the Valkyries are the psychopomps of the world and pick who goes to Starnheim or not and would be a new take on positive black character and a black aligned god in magic since Erebos flip flops and Bontu was the worst (tm).

I love to see the positive feedback the concept of this gets.
Take it in as much as you can. That rarely happens on this board.

The way they made the gods "mortal" plays well into the mythological aspect. It'll be cool to see how represent Ragnarok if they go that bend with this set...
Honestly, MDFCs are a cool concept that really ought to stick around beyond Strixhaven. Even if its deciduous I'd be happy with that.

With him being the white on I wonder how the rest will turn out. We know the names of two other with Reidane Goddess of Justice
and Alrund God of Wisdom. Alrund could be blue, but what other color would justice fit, if not white or blue? With the angels also being in black, maybe she is the black god. Or Alrund is green and she is the blue one, with a Loki in black and a Thor in red. I uploaded the two miniatures images we got of them, which we got back in october.
It's funny, because when we had the names, I assumed we'd get a cycle of enemy coloured gods, as justice overlaps red and white and wisdom overlaps green and blue.
Ah well. God of Justice is likely going to be red. Unless justice is a thing that's white-black on this world because the valkyries also appear to be white-black aligned on Kaldheim. Then the god would be black? Which is really weird because black doesn't really care much about justice philosophically. (Sure you could wrangle some sort of exlanation into it, but I feel like gods, being the embodiment of mana/magic, should be a bit more representative of the core of a colour. Ah well, we'll see.)
Justice is neither boros nor azorious firstly, coz it doesn't contain neither emotion or logic before it contains pragmatism
It is orzhov. If we were talking Judjement it could be esper or even azorious.
I am kinda dissapointed the gods will be monocolored. I like they are not directly immortal but indirectly. I guess reidanne will be black alrund blue thor red and loki green.

I think we shall find the showcase arts to generally be much more martial and just plain cooler. They are in a "metal" style, after all.
Though I wish they had gone full Party Hard, Shred Harder style.

Makes me think that. It would be more badass in flavor.
if he would be exiled or put into graveyard as a creature.
Then he would return into the play as a equipment sword.

No, I don't think this works. Only transforming DFC cards can transform, not modal DFC. See https://markrosewater.tumblr.com/post/628401943915692032/if-i-have-a-modal-dfc-in-play-that-is-a-human
