With him being the white on I wonder how the rest will turn out. We know the names of two other with Reidane Goddess of Justice
and Alrund God of Wisdom. Alrund could be blue, but what other color would justice fit, if not white or blue? With the angels also being in black, maybe she is the black god. Or Alrund is green and she is the blue one, with a Loki in black and a Thor in red. I uploaded the two miniatures images we got of them, which we got back in october.
So it looks like he's a combination of Tyr and Freyr. And without his goodly sword, he is doomed to die during Ragnarok.
It makes sense that the gods can just die like normal creatures. I guess they're probably all equipment on the other side, though I hope maybe one or two are just artifacts.
So I guess this time the gods' legendary weapons ARE the gods.
That's interesting flavour-wise. Wonder how this will compare to other DFCs in set, will they also be creatures/equipment or perhaps creatures/auras?
Wow. I'm glad they settled on this format. I was hoping it would be flip but now that I see that they are MDFC it makes a lot more sense in hindsight. The equipment seems pretty decent. I wouldn't mind a copy for EDH.

Protection from reason (Decadent_Creed can't be blocked, targeted, dealt damage, or enchanted by reason.)
The fact that their backside indicators are "equipment" and "god" makes me think that all gods in the cycle will be DFC cards with an equipment on the backside.

Almost certainly. God cards have been done as cycles, I would expect the same here.
I have absolutely no idea how this is gonna work in edh if the gods are the commanders if the random creature is equipped in equipment form do they gain commander damage?
and for the first time in history in mtg, we have the easiest gods to kill due to that they aren't indestructible makes sense since Norse gods are not immortal unlike the Egyptian and Greek gods
also finally confirmed the MDFC for this set is whatever/Equipment
anyway card its ponderable for my syr gwen deck because either side is good for it

There is nothing about any of the rules that would imply that a creature equipped with Sword of the Realms would do commander damage. It would be cool but it currently is not the case.
Or is this like the previous set that you just choose which side is to play on?
Exactly MDFCs (where you choose the side upon casting) were confirmed for multiple sets. Exactly the same rules. Basically split cards for permanents.

Heck, every day I wake up, I don't go out and kill people - and I'm rewarded by not having legions of enemies! Amazing how that works.
Although ninjas are experts of camouflage and concealment, they are actually horrible liars. This means that no matter where you are, you can shout out, “Are there any ninjas here?” and if there’s a ninja within earshot, he’ll be compelled to respond.
This design for a god is pretty darn swell. It's a legend that you don't mind drawing a second copy of (as the second one will just be the other side). Unlike Grandeur, however, this approach doesn't neuter the card's usefulness in Commander and actually makes the card seem a bit more interesting as a commander due to the versatility.
I think gonna see the gods domains being switched up, we have a white god of battle and I'm guessing Reidane will be a mono-black Justice god.

“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
Soo one will be a staff and the other a Shield(or sword?)(if equipment, maybe they can also be enchantments or spells)?
Now this is a MDFC i like. You either gets a creature (a god that can be killed, go go ragnarok) or get a equipament that you can maybe then equip an extra copy of the god. Excited for more spoilers !
Hey Wizards, please thank your design team for making even more tough decisions, lol... Love the card but will have a hell of a time deciding which side to play.
On a Commander note.. do we now have an equipment that can be played as our Commander (for when we cast it, I know it's the Legendary God side when in the Command Zone)?
With the effect he has, I'm surprises he isn't an enchantment god like the Theros versions. As a God, I'm fine with them being killable, its more in line with Norse mythology that way, but couldn't it be a bit beefier, like a 3 mana 3/4 or a 4 mana 4/5 or something? They are Mythics AND Gods, after all. Either way, I really like the card and will play them across a bunch of formats I play.

Assuming they are all monocolored: R - Thor / Mjolnir U - Odin (Alrund) / Gungnir G - Heimdall (Reidane? she seems to have the horn...) / Gjallarhorn B - Loki / Laevateinn
But the WW in Halvar's mana cost does makes me wonder if we'll be getting only monos... well, that and the fact that Reidane being the G one seems very odd, she seems like a WR design.

The last few Gods like in the war of the sparks wasn't enchantment
Yes nearly everyone in their pantheon dies, but always at hands of another god or being like Fenrir, Jormungandr, etc. It'll be interesting to see them dying to 4 squirrel tokens. Maybe all its Ratatoskr, his two twin brothers (huh?), and Loki disguised as Ratatoskr. Maybe a human wearing armor made of mistletoe?

Commanderness is a trait of the physical card; it will cost +2 mana per time cast from the command zone regardless of mode.
A+ card design right there.

Sort of like the flavor... you can summon the god or the weapon, yielding the weapon grants you god like powers.
The beginning of combat trigger is odd, it doesn’t really circumvent equip costs because it simply moves equipment around.
R - Thor / Mjolnir
U - Odin (Alrund) / Gungnir

They are Norse deities, so I’m not surprised. Ragnarok is a big part of Norse mythology after all.
