Hmm I have a colorless construct deck in Pioneer that may want to try this out. Kill a Hangarback Walker for the thopters and go fetch a 1 cmc construct. Does seem interesting in tribal in Pioneer as well. I have a few Humans decks that could use this, as well as the aforementioned Elves and Gobbos.
Playing since 1994: Currently MAGS (HomeBrew),Standard & Pauper (Pioneer and Modern are degenerate trash formats)
STOP using "dude/bro" as a pejorative or insult. Grow up.
Margaret Thatcher: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Martin Luther King Jr.: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
Name and art sounds like a Theros card. Ancient Greek as it gets.
Sorcery speed hurts, but it's already such an overwhelming card that it's only fair. Cool.
From good old Wikipedia...
Traditionally, pyres are used for the cremation of the dead in the Hindu and Sikh religions, a practice which dates back several thousands of years. Funeral pyres were also used in Viking and Roman culture.
They aren't specifically Greek, loads of cultures have and still use them. Hero I will cede as being Greek in origin.

oh you know what this might also confirm the theory that kaldheim might be third times a charm attempt for a tribal set
the other 2 times was lorwyn and ixalan
It feels like we have tribal stuff all the time. Commander Legends had elf tribal, Ikoria, humans, Eldraine had knight tribal, Innistrad was horror tribes, not to mention core sets, Onslaught, etc. It's really popular so I get why it's so common but it feels almost constant.

yes but the reason this helps the theory is this is an "any tribe" card you usually don't see cards like this in standard sets unless it has a tribal theme

Elves in G/B, maybe warriors in R/B, maybe spirits in U/W, someone said trolls for U/G but Simic is tricky. Any ideas what it might be?

While the Conspicuous Snoop-Boggart Harbinger combo is a 2-card infinite combo in Modern Goblins, this card can at least help Grumgully versions combo off more consistently:

They purposely try to put a tribal archetype in every set as a draft theme since tribal is popular.

My guess is that this card is a semi-plant for future sets in general. Rogues are already a thing, Kaldheim will add Elf and Warrior tribal, next up is Strixhaven with a lot of Wizards and then Innistrad which could have some Cleric tribal.
If snow is a mechanic in this set, I imagine Simic being the snow archetype for Draft.
Zombie tribal will love this. Fill the graveyard and their revival abilities.
Man, burning zombies make them stronger! What a flavor fail!
The card is really strong and it's a nice twist on pod. So i'll guess Kaldheim will have a strong tribal component? Elves, warriors, spirits... what else?

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Am I the only one really tired of getting tribal in every f*cking set? It tends to draft and play out pretty boring most of the time, yet people seems to love it and Maro and friends put it in every single set. Zendikar 3 had 4 tribal themes (or even 5, but party was at least innovative). Even sets like Eldraine, which were supposed to be about something else get 2 tribal themes. These numbers are not too far from "tribal sets" like Onslaught (5) or Ixalan (4).
Oh you know what there’s a loophole to turn this into a birthing pod
just one simple card Amoeboid Changeling you give a creature changeling till end of turn then you can find anything
well, even though you are right....
any 1drop, sac for this, then you can sac any of your creatures for a 1 mana more expensive one...
issue being, your plains are ruined if the Changeling is killed and it's just a 1/1, meaning it dies to virtually anything.
that said, the card is pretty damn powerful.
a ton of tribal decks will want it for sure.
i dont know, having to pay 2 mana instead of 1 mana + 2 life in addition to the tribal restriction seems to be a more than enough nerf to me.
so even if it is played, i dont think it has to get banned... i am hardly convinced birthing pod still needs to be banned tbh.

Heck, every day I wake up, I don't go out and kill people - and I'm rewarded by not having legions of enemies! Amazing how that works.
Although ninjas are experts of camouflage and concealment, they are actually horrible liars. This means that no matter where you are, you can shout out, “Are there any ninjas here?” and if there’s a ninja within earshot, he’ll be compelled to respond.

Anyone want a tribal Birthing Pod?
Source: Torche
that is gonna be beyond tested in goblin and elf decks in modern
but the tribal restriction makes it less durable than the orginal but this is like a golden apple for edh community
and this will get a nickname Tri-pod
This with Matter Reshaper into Thought-Knot Seer?

it’s strictly worse than the one that can get any creature since this is tribal only
