They may have retconned additional types of elves into Lorwyn. I could see WotC making moves like that to make more connections with D&D.

Its a Dominarian elf because Nightshade is on Dominaria. Moonglove is the poisonous plant from Lorwyn.

StaffMy first thought was Kelsien. Along with Zagras, this gives me a lot more ways to get Deathtouch on Kelsien.

6x 2/2 is also a pretty nice amount of power to threaten an opponents head.
