Choose any number of target creatures, planeswalkers and/or players of your choice. For each of them, exile the top card of your library, then Soulfire Eruption inflicts damage to the permanent or to the player equal to the converted mana cost of that card. You can play the exiled cards until the end of your next turn.
A weird storm-matters Chimera, and a red way to get card draw while burning your opponents, joined by reprints of Austere Command and Flood of Recollection. I was hoping for a different strategy like all the other new 3-color legends, but beggars can't be choosers.
Such a waste of a neat chimera! Why does that shard only care about spells? Super boring. They could have based x on number of mountains islands plains instead.
But isn't this the same theme as the jeskai deck from C19?
Not at all. Sevinne is an Instant/Sorcery matters Commander wants to cast a single spell from the Graveyard per turn for maximum value, Elsha is a Noncreature matters Commander that wants to Scry for maximum value. Kykar is as close as it gets for a "Jeskai Storm Commander", but he only cares about noncreatures and his only actual interaction with casting multiple spells in one turn is discounting R off your spells if you want to go off that way. Gnostro cares about any spell, and can be just as well be an "Untap matters" Commander since he's pretty much also a Super Tim if you want to play him this way.
That red mythic seems... not good for 9 mana. If you could play the cards without paying their cmc sure, but nope. So youre presumably stacking your deck through other means and then tying up 9 mana to deal some damage or youre stacking wincons after going infinite i guess but you went infinite already sooo..
I cant seem to reiterate this enough: we're looking for playable, not broken, and not hot garbage.
