Blim, Comedic Genius 2BR
Legendary Creature — Imp (R)
Flying
Whenever Blim, Comedic Genius deals combat damage to a player, that player gains control of a permanent you control of your choice. Then each player loses life and discards cards equal to the number of permanents they control but don't own.

Demonic Knowledge 2B
Enchantment
When Demonic Knowledge enters the battlefield, draw 3 cards.
At the beginning of your end step, you lose 2 life for each card in your hand.
And that's what you get for stealing my stuff: the same stuff, but on fire.
I wish the second half of his ability was an upkeep or end step trigger. The fact you have to deal damage and give them a card to trigger the effect is not as good imo.

Well, he is a Rakdos member. So his jokes are very ‚offensive‘.
I've been excited to play Treacherous Blessing in my Vilis, Broker of Blood deck. Demonic Knowledge is like that but supercharged - I'll get to draw my deck (and probably kill myself) in short order!
(and maybe even play that new 9 mana mythic to exchange my low life total with someone else...)
I wanted to run a Xancha decks with curses and other such things you can "give" to an opponent in a kinda anti-group hug deck and I think I'm going with Blim instead (or as an alternate).

It looks like the Demonic Knowledge flavor text is a quote from Nevinyrral, _____ of Urborg. (I can only read katakana, so I don’t know what the last word is.) Maybe we’re finally getting a Nevinyrral card?
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.

Ooo thank for the suggestions, those are just the kinda of cards I'm looking at too that you don't necessarily want and/or cards that you still gain the benefits from if you give to someone else (such as curses).

i can tell you that when they do a big name like that it’s usually a legendary card being used as the person talking You can see this with a few flavor texts on cards
So yes it’s probably happening
And I will say this to everybody if you build around nevinyrral and not run Nevinyrral's Disk You should be a Ashamed of your self

I'm just curious - how does one write a nonesense work like Nivenyrral in Japanese? Like how do you see those characters and know they mean Nevinyrral - besides perhaps seeing his name written in Japanese on another card? Is it just phonetic?

Katakana is one of three Japanese alphabets and it is used to phonetically spell out foreign-originated words.

Love that flavor text.

I like this idea. You can add also some ‚global suicide‘ cards like Sulfuric Vortex, Rain of Gore or Havoc Festival.

"Nevinyrral, tyrant of Urborg"
I am already aware of this, thanks
Flavor text: "The greatest works of literature leave the reader forever altered." - Nevinyrral, tyrant of Urborg
