Aww, man! I read the ability on Profane Transfusion first and got all excited about adding it to my Selenia Suicide Life-Swap deck. Then my eyes wandered over to the mana cost, and I realized it would never make the cut.
So people can be described as being "exquisite" now? Was this card designed by a vampire? Or are players supposed to stop thinking altogether about anything that doesn't affect gameplay? Because then WotC might wanna transition to creating a card game without flavor (and artwork for that matter), so they can cut costs in the creative department and thus maximize profit, right?

Eyeblight Cullers are nice, though.

It's funny that you mention flavor when flavor is exactly why "exquisite" is in the title of the card. It's a Lorwyn elf, they were perfection-obsessed pricks. The card name fits.

Exactly. Exquisite is one of their actual rank.
Eyeblight <<<<< Faultless < Immaculate < Exquisite < Perfect
That makes the "lore criticism" of @fan-of-"fanservice" really out of place. That's ranting for the sake of it now.
As if the "exquisite" term was an indicator of a "profit-driven" WotC

1.The card name makes sense. 2. I have no idea what your point is. Maybe we are missing it, care to explain?
Now that's a good uncommon, wow. Several of the partner uncommons are very build worthy and unique, kinda like them on principle better than the originals.
If "Exquisit" is a kind of rank, which I failed to look up, than I agree that it makes sense.
Otherwise, the term exquisite applied to a person or a group of people doesn't make sense to me, although that might be because English isn't my first language. Exquisite things like food or artwork, I could understand. Exquisit displays, like a dance move or a take-down during combat, for instance, I also understand. Pretty everything other than people I wouldn't have a problem with referring to as exquisite. Unless, of course, you the person describing these Elves consider them food for instance, like maybe a Vampire would (not that Lorwyn had those), than I could understand calling them exquisite.
On another note: Did someone mention Belbe?
O.O
(Too bad I can't seem to be able to attach my saved picture of Belbe, painted by Mark Zug, on the back of the book Nemesis - Masquerade Cycle Book II...)

Exquisite just means exceptionally beautiful or nearly perfect. It can apply to anything. In the case of the elves of Shadowmoor, they were extremely proud and vain, valuing beauty and perfection above all else. They were so extreme about this as to cast out any elves that didn't measure up to their standards, as in the the "eyeblights" from that set. So I think the name here just means "exceptionally beautiful Huntmaster." It may not be the most logical name for a card in a fantasy game but it makes sense given the story of Shadowmoor.

(Note: I'm not a native speaker either.)
It appears to be a more uncommon, maybe even old-fashioned, use of the word, but valid. It fits some of the naming conventions for Lorwyn elves, such as the already mentioned Imperious Perfect which can also sound a bit unusual.
The more you know, I guess. I jumped the gun this one and for that, I'm sorry. Now, is it better to edit or delete my post were I ranted for no good reason, as I now realize, or should it rather stay there for context's sake?
Please not Belbe with partner and uncommon power level...

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Profane transfusion is hot garbage for the mana cost.
Sure you can put the player thats ahead really far behind and get a fatty too... but at that mana cost, in black, you could also you know, just kill everyone usually
Keskit is a neat idea
I too hope belbe isnt a crap uncommon let down like so many throwback legends so far, if shes here at all. My expectations are real low.

I think you need to spend some time reading lore.
Lorwyn Elves had a caste system based on beauty and power. Exquisite was a ranking within this system, just like the Eyeblights.

exquisite adjective 1. extremely beautiful and delicate.
Actually it also used to be used to describe specifically vain people who are overly concerned with beauty and being delicate.
That's pretty much a spot-on word to use for Lorwyn elves. I rather like that card name. Also the illustration of both Elf cards are well-concepted. Seeing the lower rank foot-elf on the Huntmaster representing the token is nice. And the three Cullers look delightfully malicious. The vile joy they find in the hunt is the evil under the pretty surface that Lorwyn Elf cards don't play up often enough.

Heck, every day I wake up, I don't go out and kill people - and I'm rewarded by not having legions of enemies! Amazing how that works.
Although ninjas are experts of camouflage and concealment, they are actually horrible liars. This means that no matter where you are, you can shout out, “Are there any ninjas here?” and if there’s a ninja within earshot, he’ll be compelled to respond.

The plan, as always, is to sac artifacts to the glory of Phyrexia. Throw these Elves in too, no problem.

Elvish Promenade's flavor text list them. Hence cards such as Immaculate Magistrate, Imperious Perfect.

Some time during the antiquities expansion.
It was really explored in well almost every novel between the brothers war and apocalypse. Theyve kind of always been borgy
