Ok, so it's an X version of Gruesome Menagerie. For just one B more, that flexibility is fairly costed, but Menagerie isn't necessarily worth it anyway. This is helped a lot by being a land on one side, of course.
knew there had to be at least one really good one. i think this gets put into just about any edh deck sporting black. there really isn't any reason not to run it.
It's okay, I guess. Very powerful in Commander, but aside from the Red one all of them are (and you'd still probably play the Red one in mono-Red Commander because why not).
In Constructed, it's weird. You don't want to play it in Control because not enough targets and you don't want to play it in Midrange or Ramp because reanimating anything 5+ is prohibitively expensive. Your best bet is in Aggro, but the "different CMC" drawback means that you'll seldomly reanimate more than 2 creatures out of it and at this point you'll be paying 2BBB for a bad Call of the Death-Dweller, but with a land attached.
Mono-Black Aggro could play this, but Knight of the Ebon Legion rotating means that's Historic/Pioneer only. Same thing for Rakdos Sacrifice and Mayhem Devil, but Historic/Pioneer plays Jund Sacrifice instead for CoCo and no way in hell a three-color deck can afford a mono-land and a BBB cost.
Red is the best for all formats.
The white and blue will see play in standard control I would think, maybe even pioneer.
The green is for ramp decks.
The black needs a dedicated shell and maybe it finds place in the mono black aggro deck in pioneer,
The different mana cost nonsense just ruins the card. Is patriarchs bidding that powerful?
This set blows, this card was my last hope and they totally screwed it.

Goblin Bidding and Beast Bidding in Standard made it seem that powerful, to me.

This can actually fetch an extra creature, since 0 is a cost and some creatures of that cost exist (Not many thought)
I'll try one of these in my Modern RB Prowess deck with 4 Scourge of the Skyclaves, probably replacing a land. It'll most likely be played as a Bolt-land, but I'm more likely to cast this than Shatterskull Smashing.

Tell that to seasons past that card has always brought power power power to the table look at the M20 episode of game knights josh would have had it for sure if that resolved
Stack your CMCs carefully. The last member of the mythic DFC cycle increases flexibility by having X in its mana cost.
